We are proud to inform we launch a new course -Latest Trends of Social Media and Digital Marketing. In this study unit students will learn how social media is used in company's marketing and sales and how to use data to create customer focused social media strategies. They will be taken through the entire lifecycle of developing an overarching social media and a campaign based strategy. Students will study online IDM social media course and achieve credits by accomplishing IDM Professional Certificate in Social Media https://www.theidm.com/qualification/idm-professional-certificate-in-social-media

We will have company partners Ikea and Acer, for whom students will create a social media marketing plan. At the end of the course there will be a competition Hackathon where the best pitch of marketing plans will be awarded. This course is an ADVANCED marketing course. We expect students have a solid understanding of social media marketing and have some experience in digital marketing in real life context.

We are currently running a student project at Laurea to find the very best digital startups from Finland - to send them to compete at International level.

The idea is that the companies should have a connection to the UN values and UN sustainable goals. There are 8 categories and already some great applications, please keep them coming! Apply using this link by 15 August.

WSA 2018 :: Registration The World Summit Award (WSA) is the global follow-up initiative of the United Nations World Summit on Information Society (WSIS).

Expand to eBusiness- project (kansainväliseen kasvuun digitaalisin työkaluin -hanke) focuses on e-business from sales and marketing perspective. There will be several training sessions for foreign experts and SME entrepreneurs to familiarize themselves with the tools for digital marketing and e-commerce. Seminars will be integrated with practical exercises, which will be built for the needs of Finnish SMEs. These exercises include the dimension of the international business in the form of sales and marketing experiments – and they are implemented in accordance with the LbD (learning by developing) pedagogics.

Laurea has solid roots in LbD pedagogics. In 2016 Laurea students completed about 3,000 different levels of learning projects for the needs of the region. Thanks to LbD pedagogy, Laurea is the second most wanted university in Finland (after the art university) and the employment rate of graduates is over 95%.

The project is funded by European Regional Development Fund and Uusimaa Region (Uudenmaan liitto). Main project responsible is Laurea university of applied sciences. Other main partners are Uudenmaan yrittäjät, YritysEspoo and YritysVantaa.

Laurea will organize World Summit Awards - WSA Finland national contest. Here's the project group from Laurea, Ilkka Kurkela, Anna Nolvi, Asko Mononen ja Jouni Hoppania. Application period 1.6 -15.8. Stay tuned. More info to come...
