🤩 Outi Haanperä will be joining the panel at the Space for Humanity Finland bootcamp for future impact entrepreneurs 🌎

Outi is an economist (PhD) and a leading specialist at Sitra’s (Finnish Innovation Fund) Climate and Nature Solutions team. She has over 15 years of experience in economic analysis of public policy interventions. Outi explores cost-effective ways to achieve net-zero emissions and opportunities to protect . For example, she was part of a secretary to support the Working group on sustainable recovery to identify sustainable recovery measures for the COVID recovery in the Finnish context. Her previous roles cover both public and private sector, as well as research and international organisations.

🤩 Yet another amazing speaker announcement: Fredrik Tunberg will be joining the entrepreneurship panel at the Space for Humanity Finland bootcamp for future impact entrepreneurs!

Fredrik is the CEO of Sally R, a Swedish cleantech company that uses space technology to guarantee a healthy indoor air climate and at the same time decrease energy consumption in buildings. Fredrik holds an MSc Management from Warwick Business School and has been working with different start-ups for the last 10 years as founder, investor and business leader.

🤩 Hannu Rajaniemi will be sharing his experiences and insights on meet in a fireside chat at the Space for Humanity Finland bootcamp for future impact entrepreneurs 👩‍🚀

📚 Hannu is the author of four novels including The Quantum Thief (winner of 2012 Tähtivaeltaja Award for the best science fiction novel published in Finland and translated into more than 20 languages). His most recent book is Summerland, an alternate history spy thriller in a world where the afterlife is real. His short fiction has been featured in Slate, MIT Technology Review and the New York Times.

👏 Hannu is also co-founder and CEO of HelixNano, a venture- and Y Combinator backed synthetic biology startup developing evolution-resistant mRNA vaccines for cancer, COVID-19 and other applications. Hannu studied mathematics and theoretical physics at University of Oulu and Cambridge and holds a PhD in string theory from the University of Edinburgh.

🤩 We've got more great news: Jonathan Scott from the Space Medicine Team of the ISS Operations & Astronauts Group will give a talk on 'Medical Challenges of Future Human Space Exploration Missions' at the Space for Humanity Finland bootcamp 🌎

After completing his BSc degree in Sports and Exercise Science at the University of Bath, UK, Jonathan spent 10 years working for QinetiQ in the UK delivering human performance research on behalf of the UK Ministry of Defence. During his time with QinetiQ, he completed his PhD in Exercise and Bone Metabolism with The University of Liverpool, UK. In 2014, he joined KBR GmbH and took up the role of Team Lead of the Medical Projects and Technology Team in the ESA - European Space Agency's Space Medicine Team at the European Astronaut Centre (EAC) in Cologne, Germany. In this role, he is responsible for the identification of scientific knowledge, and the identification and development of technologies and that have the potential to optimise the medical care provided to astronauts, both today on the International Space Station and during future human exploration missions.

🤩 Veera Sylvius will be speaking at Space for Humanity Finland about 🌎

🛰️ Veera has made a 20+ year career in space technology, as entrepreneur and Managing Director of Space Systems Finland, today known as Huld. After studying theoretical space physics and an MBA she has lead the company in growth in the areas of satellite flight software and ground processing systems; also expanding the industrial capabilities of the company basing on the space heritage. She has acted as head of the Finnish Space Industry Group and member of the Finnish Space Committee for years. Today she works as VP, Strategy at Huld.

🤩 We are excited to have Mari Granström to share her insights and experiences in the Impact Entrepreneurship session at Space for Humanity Finland 🌎

🌊 Mari is founder of Origin by Ocean, urban activist, passionate environmentalist and organic chemist all in one package. She believes in the power of doing rather than talking: If there's a will there is a way. At Origin by Ocean, they develop biorefinery technology based on the marine biomass and address the eutrophication problem of the oceans.

Their values lie deep in the oceans and with our actions we want to bring back the natural balance of the marine ecosystem.

🌱 Heidi is General Partner at Pale Blue Dot, a €80M seed-stage venture capital firm, investing in climate tech startups that reduce and reverse the climate crisis and help us prepare for a new world. Pale Blue Dot is based in Malmö, Sweden, and invests in early stage companies in Europe and the US.

🤩 Wonderful news: Timo Pyhälahti will be speaking at the upcoming Space for Humanity Finland bootcamp for future impact entrepreneurs 🌎

Timo (M.Sc. in Eng.) has since 1995 developed satellite remote sensing data processing systems and integrated data to other information and modeling systems in Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE)🛰️ As an extension to earth observation product validation activities, he has coordinated the development of citizen observation techniques to facilitate open data access in the national Envibase project. He was the main designer of the CitobsDB system for citizen observation crowdsourcing management and data storage. He has been involved in various international research and operations development co-creation projects. He was chair of a working group in defining national guidelines for using citizen crowdsourced observations (JHS202 Kansalaishavainnot) in future public activities in Finland.
