Madda Walabu University Founded in 2006 in Bale Robe, Ethiopia. Our motto: "Devoted to Impact"
Home to four Centers of Excellence in Agriculture, Biodiversity, Health, and Tourism.

Madda Walabu university is one of the higher educational institutions located in south eastern part of Ethiopia , Bale zone at about 430 Km away from the capital city, Addis Ababa. The name Madda Walabu university is given to the university based on the place which is 227 km away from the zonal town Robe to the south west. Historically, the place is closely related to the Oromo people who are the brain child of the culture of the “Gada” system as it has been recurrently indicated by elders and modern researchers. This place has deep rooted value for Oromo people. Nowadays, the name Madda Walabu is commonly used by Madda Walabu stadium, Madda Walabu Cultural band, Madda Walabu university itself and other smaller business centers named after this unique place in order to make the memory long lasting in the mind of the people. Madda Walabu university is, in fact, among the recently founded institutions of higher education in the country. However, despite its being recent, the university can be categorized as the rapidly changing institution in terms of student admission and expansion of programmes and campuses. Its geography and its state of being bread basket in terms of production makes its surrounding to be the Ukraine of Africa, which in turn makes the university a place of worth living. More over, the university is surrounded by different tourist attraction centers which make it appealing to be an ear catching institution to be visited. Currently, the university is running over 42 programmes at BA/BSc/MSc and BEd levels. It has 10 schools. The existing schools are Technology and Engineering, Natural and Computational Science, Agriculture and Natural Resource Management, Health Science, Social Science and Humanities and Business and Economics, each of which has its own course team. At the present, there are 12,190 students in the university whose number has steadily been increasing from year to year.

የመደ ወላቡ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ቀጣይ የስኬት ጉዞ የሚቀረጽበት መድረክ!

የመደ ወላቡ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሬዝዳንት ዶ/ር ብርሃነመስቀል ጠና ከዩኒቨርሲቲው አጠቃላይ መምህራንና የአስተዳደር ሠራተኞች ጋር ውይይት አካሄዱ።

በመድረኩም በተከናወኑና በሂደት ላይ ባሉ የሪፎርም ሥራዎች፣ በ2018 ዓ.ም. የሥራ አፈጻጸም ግምገማ፣ በተገኙ ውጤቶችና በታዩ ክፍተቶች፣ እንዲሁም በ2019 ዓ.ም የሥራ አቅጣጫዎች ላይ ጥልቅና ገንቢ ውይይት አካሂደዋል።

የውይይቱ ዋና ዓላማ ያለፈውን ለመገምገም ብቻ ሳይሆን፣ የተገኙ ስኬቶችን ወደ ተሻለ ውጤት፣ የታዩ ክፍተቶችን ወደ መፍትሔ፣ እና የተያዙ ዕቅዶችን ወደ ተጨባጭ ለውጥ ማሸጋገር ነው።

በመድረኩ የመማር ማስተማር ጥራትን ማረጋገጥ፣ ችግር ፈቺ ጥናትና ምርምርን ማጠናከር፣ የማህበረሰብ ተጠቃሚነትን ማሳደግ፣ የሠራተኞችን ሥነ-ምግባርና የሥራ ተነሳሽነት ማጠናከር፣ መልካም አስተዳደርን ማስፈን፣ እንዲሁም የአገልግሎት አሰጣጥን በቴክኖሎጂ ማዘመን እና ማቀላጠፍ በትኩረት ተነስተው ውይይት ተደርጎባቸዋል።

በተጨማሪም የአቅም ግንባታ፣ የግንባታ ፕሮጀክቶች አፈጻጸም፣ የክትትልና ድጋፍ ሥርዓት፣ የዩኒቨርሲቲውን ገጽታና ተቋማዊ ተዓማኒነት ማሳደግ፣ እንዲሁም ከተለያዩ የሀገር ውስጥ እና የውጪ አጋር ተቋማት ጋር ያለውን ትብብር ማጠናከር በሚቻልባቸው አቅጣጫዎች ላይ ሰፊ ሃሳብ ተለዋውጠዋል።

ግልጽ ውይይት፤ የጋራ ኃላፊነት፤ ተጨባጭ ውጤት!
ውይይቱ የመምህራንና የአስተዳደር ሠራተኞች ሐሳብ በነፃነት የተንጸባረቀበት፣ ጠንካራ ጎኖች የተለዩበት፣ ድክመቶች በግልጽነት የተነሱበትና መፍትሔ ላይ የጋራ መግባባት የተፈጠረበት ገንቢ መድረክ ሆኗል።

በ2019 ዓ.ም. የተያዙ ግቦችን ለማሳካት የእያንዳንዱ የዩኒቨርሲቲው ማህበረሰብ አባል ተሳትፎ፣ ቅንጅት፣ ተጠያቂነትና ቁርጠኝነት ወሳኝ መሆኑ ተጠቁሟል።
የለውጥ ጉዞ በራዕይ ይጀምራል፤ በጋራ ተሳትፎ ይጠናከራል፤ በተጨባጭ ውጤት ይረጋገጣል በማለት መድረኩን አጠቃለዋል ፕሬዚዳንቱ።

President of Madda Walabu University, Dr. Berhanemeskel Tena, held a comprehensive dialogue with academic and administrative staff to review institutional performance, assess ongoing reforms, and set strategic priorities for the year ahead.
The discussion focused on strengthening teaching and learning quality, promoting problem-solving research, enhancing community engagement, advancing good governance, accelerating digital transformation, improving staff capacity and accountability, and strengthening domestic and international partnerships.
The forum provided an open platform to celebrate achievements, address institutional gaps, and identify practical solutions to improve performance and service delivery.
The message was clear: institutional transformation requires a shared vision, collective responsibility, and measurable results.
As the University advances its 2019 E.C./2026-7 priorities, all members of the University community are called upon to work together with commitment, integrity, and accountability to turn reform initiatives into tangible impact.
Transformation begins with vision, gains momentum through collective action, and is proven by results.
