The results of the 60th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad have been announced!
The largest competition for young chemists is being held this year in Russia, in the city of Moscow, from April 15 to 23.
Gold medals were awarded to students from Russia, China, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Hungary, and Israel.
Silver medals were awarded to participants from teams representing Russia, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, Turkmenistan, Belarus, and Mongolia.
Bronze medals were won by young chemists from Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Japan, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, North Macedonia, and Armenia.
The Best Theorist of the Olympiad is Bowen Tan (China).
The Best Experimentalist is Zihan Wang (China).
The Lunin Prize (1st degree) was awarded to Zihan Wang (China).
The 2nd degree prize went to Hoang Minh Ngo (Vietnam).
The 3rd degree prize was awarded to Bowen Tan (China).
The Olympiad is one of the most prestigious school chemistry competitions in the world, with its international status recognized by UNESCO.
