Our high school students recently took part in the Global Studies Fair at school, where they met representatives from universities around the world, including Canada, UK, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Malta, Turkey, Malaysia, UAE, Mauritius, Grenada, Europe, and other global institutions.
Students had the chance to explore future academic and career opportunities and ask questions directly to university representatives—an exciting step in planning their next chapter!
We’re proud of their curiosity and enthusiasm and look forward to supporting them as they make important decisions about their future.

"Addressing All Components of an Education"
Our students recently had an educational visit to several cultural and historical sites in Addis Ababa, including the Yimtu Bezena Cultural Center, the National Museum of Ethiopia, Fendika Ayat Regency, and the Taitu Cultural Center.
The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to appreciate and learn more about Ethiopia’s history, art, and cultural heritage.

This week, our leadership and teams came together for a series of thoughtful reflection meetings. These sessions gave us valuable space to review our strategic direction and termly plans with fresh eyes.
As part of our ongoing Planning → Action → Reflection → Learning cycle, these discussions strengthened our mutual collaboration, trust, and shared commitment to excellence.

Our Basketball Champions! 🏆
It brings us great joy to announce the success of our 4th Annual Basketball Tournament held at One Planet International School this past weekend!
Teams from various international and private schools battled for glory, and our players shone brightly. We proudly secured championship titles in the U19 Boys, U16 Boys, and U19 Girls categories, showcasing exceptional skill and teamwork!

“Centered on the notion of service.”
Our Year 6 students recently enjoyed a wonderful Caring Day: a Potted Plant Planting activity held outside the school compound. This meaningful experience is part of our Virtue Program, through which students learn to demonstrate the value of caring through purposeful action.
During this special event, students worked together to plan and prepare potted plants that will be shared as symbols of kindness, responsibility, and environmental awareness. The activity helped them connect classroom learning with real-life service and teamwork.

"The Oneness of Mankind"
The Kindergarten division joyfully celebrated Cultural Day this week. Our young learners came dressed in beautiful cultural attire representing diverse traditions and proudly brought a variety of cultural foods to share with their classmates.
The day was filled with color, learning, and appreciation as students explored different cultures through dress, food, and meaningful conversations. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate diversity and nurture respect and understanding among our children.

On Friday, February 6, 2026, our Year 8 students visited the Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia at Black Lion Hospital. During the visit, students learned about the organization’s vital work in supporting children with heart conditions and assisting their families. It was a touching and meaningful experience that helped our students develop empathy, kindness, and a deeper understanding of the importance of helping others in our community.

We are proud to share that our school successfully hosted its first Inter-scholastic Model United Nations (OPIMUN), bringing together students from over five schools. The event was filled with engaging and thought-provoking discussions, as students demonstrated strong critical thinking, collaboration, and diplomacy skills.
It was truly inspiring to see our learners confidently exchange ideas and engage with global issues in such a meaningful way.

We are pleased to share with you that the recent Environmental Stewardship Launching Program held at One Planet brought together over twenty-five schools from Addis Ababa, as well as school leaders, students, parents, partners, scholars, environmental professionals, and government officials, to discuss key environmental issues, share best practices, and learn from one another. In addition, participants made a shared commitment to continue and strengthen environmental action plans within their schools, thereby reinforcing a collective responsibility toward a more sustainable future.
