St. Mary's University, Ethiopia

St. Mary’s University (SMU) and Queen’s Supermarket PLC (QSP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on May 20, 2026, at St. Mary’s University to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry.

The agreement outlines a framework for joint initiatives in research and development, student internships, curriculum design, knowledge and technology transfer, and capacity‑building programs, while also committing both institutions to co‑host seminars and workshops that promote knowledge exchange.

The 11th ICT Exhibition has started at St. Mary’s University – Green Campus Hall and is currently in progress. ✨ Hackathons, workshops, coding challenges, and showcases are taking place, with participants engaging in AI, cybersecurity, and other emerging technologies. Running from May 21–23, the exhibition provides a space for learning, networking, and recognition.

On May 19, 2026, the Economics Club of St. Mary’s University hosted the Young Economists’ Forum. The opening session, titled “A Short Analysis of the Ethiopian Economy,” encouraged lively discussion, critical thinking, and knowledge sharing among students. Professionals from the industry delivered a guest lecture, while respected guests and lecturers in attendance offered valuable perspectives and insights on the Ethiopian economy.

University life: late nights, pressure, strangers to teammates, realizing, "I belong in tech." The 11th ICT Exhibition is that moment. 🎓
