We are thrilled to announce the outstanding performance of our high school students at the Model African Union Symposium hosted by the African Union! 🎉

A total of 17 of our students were selected as delegates for this prestigious event. On the day of the symposium, they joined their peers in insightful discussions on the future of our continent. Together, they tackled pressing issues such as the migration of educated humanpower to developed countries, demonstrating their dedication to shaping Africa's destiny.

Divided into 6 regions, each country collaborated on formulating resolutions to address these challenges. After intense deliberation, the best resolution from each region was presented to esteemed judges. We are proud to announce that the region where our students participated in the majority was awarded for presenting the best resolution!

Furthermore, we are delighted to share that 7 out of our 17 students were recognized as the best delegates and awarded certificates for their exceptional contributions.

This symposium has not only showcased the talent and dedication of our students but also instilled in them the belief that the future of Africa is bright. We are honored to have played a role in shaping the leaders of a futuristic Africa.

Established in 1998, Flipper International School boasts a rich history of 25 years in the field of education. Since receiving accreditation from Cambridge, Flipper has successfully guided three batches of students through the IGCSE examinations, with today marking the commencement of tests for the fourth batch.
As we begin this new chapter, Flipper extends its heartfelt wishes for success to all students participating in the examinations. We also encourage our younger students to draw inspiration from their predecessors and embrace the spirit of diligence and perseverance in their own academic pursuits.

At Flipper International School, we go beyond providing in-house education by striving to ensure that our students achieve success in higher education, allowing them to excel and thrive in the future.

February 9th, 2024, we organized a University Fair with EdTour - Counselor, where seven university representatives from University of Arizona, University of Nebraska at Omaha, University of Texas at Arlington, Bard College, West Virginia University, California Baptist University, and Pace University, were present.

This event provided our students with the opportunity to directly engage with university representatives and plan their academic futures. FIS is committed to hosting similar events in the future to support the success of our students.

Our staff Christmas lunch was a wonderful opportunity to express our appreciation for all our FIS family - teachers, management, security and support staff. The collective effort of all our FIS team contributes to our students academic development, wellbeing and overall happiness. We look forward to welcoming all our beloved students back at the start of the second term in January 2024!

This month we had the pleasure of hosting two distinguished guests from the University of Mississippi, Dr. Zenebe (Associate Professor of Media and Communication & Coordinator of International Programs)- https://olemiss.edu/people/beyene - and Miss Blair (Senior International Officer and Director of Study Abroad) - https://olemiss.edu/people/blair - at our Summit Branch to meet and take questions from our grade 11 and 12 students.

Our management team also had the opportunity to discuss potential scholarship opportunities with them along with having discussions with leadership teams from the University of Florida, Louisiana State University as well as members of Education USA.

In the coming weeks, our grade 11 and 12 students will also attend an event hosted by Turkish Maarif school where they will have an opportunity to meet with representatives of several Turkish universities. It's important that we continue to develop meaningful relationships with universities across the world, in order to widen the opportunities available for our graduating students who plan on continued further education abroad.

Our Brand New Beklobet Branch Science Laboratory Is Now Open! It was a pleasure to witness our students and our science teachers already making the most of our brand new Beklobet branch science laboratory. After significant investments we have been able to successfully bring our laboratory up to standard and our lab is now fully functional and operational. This new space will give our Beklobet students an opportunity to transfer what they learn during their science theory classes into hands on practical sessions. Crucial to science education is hands-on involvement, showing, not just telling, real experiments and practical application is key to comprehension. A great day for all.
