The AU Open Forum aims at discussing digital inclusion especially in relation to Capacity Building; Community Networks; Digital Transformation; and Digital Cooperation. The Forum will also discuss the Internet Governance Capacity Building activities of the AU-EU Project entitled Policy and Regulatory Initiative for Digital Africa (PRIDA), which focuses on digital inclusion. Self nomination to the African IGF-MAG // Auto-nomination au MAG de l'IGF africain

Dear Stakeholders,

As stipulated in the African IGF Charter (available at: https://afigf.africa/) adopted in 2017 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, the African IGF secretariat is calling for self-nominations as African IGF-MAG members, from all stakeholders. The note on nomination of AfIGF-MAG members is attached to provide more information on the process.

In case you feel that you are able and willing to serve on a voluntary and pro-bono basis according to the terms and conditions defined by the AfIGF Charter, we are kindly requesting you to complete the attached “Application form for membership to AfIGF-MAG” form and return it to [email protected] with a copy to [email protected], the latest by 8th September 2018.

We are very pleased to announce that the 6th African IGF will be organized at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt (https://sharmelsheikh.regency.hyatt.com/en/hotel/home.html) ‪from 4 – 6 December 2017‬.
Please visit: http://afigf.org/ to register for the African Internet Governance forum (AfIGF 2017) so that you can receive an invitation letter for processing of your visa application. In this regard, the AUC will share with you shortly through the website (and by email) a separate registration form that the host country will wish to use to expedite the visa process and put together a list of participants to facilitate logistical matters upon arrival.
The invitation letters and information Note (to be sent and posted shortly) will include instructions for participants to share passport copies with the Egyptian National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) designated focal point to speed up the visa process, if need be. The email of NTRA focal point (for visa assistance) will be included in the information Note and shared with the group through email.

There will be two pre-events to be organized back to back just prior to the African IGF, the African School on IG and North Africa IGF.

Additionally, the secretariat will facilitate the selection process of the main theme of this year’s event. And in the coming few days we will be providing updates
on the agenda (draft0) and other logistical matters.
