🌏 The Global Youth Scholar Program (GYSP) — run in partnership with Selam Learning and S E L A M 🇪🇹 — gives young people an opportunity to explore diplomacy beyond the classroom through exposure, private tours and direct conversations with working professionals in diplomatic fields.

GYSP scholars visit the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, where African nations come together to advance unity, peace, and development.

GYSP scholars explore the African Union Headquarters, home to the Nelson Mandela Plenary Hall, named in honour of the iconic African leader and symbol of freedom and unity.

A gallery of African leaders offers scholars a glimpse into the history of continental leadership and the legacy of those who helped shape modern Africa.

During their visit to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), GYSP scholars explored the role of the United Nations in advancing regional cooperation and Africa’s development.

GYSP scholars explore the historic Africa Hall at UNECA, where African leaders founded the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in 1963, laying the foundation for today’s African Union.

☀️ This summer, YES welcomed the inaugural cohort of the Global Youth Scholar Program (GYSP) to Addis Ababa, 🇪🇹 Together, 15 young emerging leaders from 5 nations (🇪🇹🇸🇩🇰🇪🇨🇦🇺🇸) explored identity, culture, community, learning, and purpose!
