Did you know pedestrian children are more vulnerable to road crashes? As parents and caregivers, teaching our children about road safety is important. Encourage them to use pedestrian crossings properly, look both ways before crossing any road, and avoid using electronic devices while crossing. Teach them to wait for the green light or WALK signal, walk on the sidewalk or footpath, and wear bright or reflective clothing when crossing at night or early in the morning. It's also important to remind them to not run across the road or cross in between parked vehicles or at sharp bends without taking a proper look.

The visit was followed by a fruitful discussion.

Mission of the UN SG’s Special Envoy for Road Safety, Mr. Jean Todt together with delegates from UN Economic Commissions for Africa (UNECA) and WHO visited Misale Driver Training Academy. The UN SG’s Special Envoy for Road Safety is visiting Ethiopia with the view of encouraging increased attention to road safety in the region and partnerships.
