Awash Capital Investment Bank CEO Dr. Andualem Hailu Serves as Guest of Honor at MicroLink Graduation Ceremony
Addis Ababa | August 2026 — Dr. Andualem Hailu, Chief Executive Officer of Awash Capital Investment Bank, served as the Guest of Honor at the 2018 E.C. Graduation Ceremony of MicroLink Information Technology College, where he congratulated the graduating students and their families and shared an inspiring message drawn from his academic and professional experience.
In his address, Dr. Andualem emphasized the rapidly growing importance of information technology, digital transformation and digital skills to Ethiopia's economic competitiveness, national development and digital sovereignty. He encouraged the graduates to continuously strengthen their professional capabilities and contribute to the realization of the Digital Ethiopia vision.
Celebrating Nearly Three Decades of Pioneering IT Education
Dr. Andualem recognized MicroLink Information Technology College as a pioneer in information technology education in Ethiopia since its establishment nearly 27 years ago.
Over the course of its history, MicroLink has played an important role in developing Ethiopia's technology talent and has produced and graduated professionals in critical fields including Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Networking and Database Management.
The College's contribution extends beyond the classroom. Its alumni are serving across Ethiopia in significant professional and leadership positions, including at ministerial, directorate and senior executive levels, as well as in leading technology and public institutions.
MicroLink graduates are contributing their expertise in organizations including Ethio telecom, Ethiopian Electric Utility, INSA, and a wide range of government and private-sector institutions. Their presence in strategic positions demonstrates the enduring contribution of the institution to Ethiopia's technology ecosystem and human-capital development.
Dr. Andualem noted that the College's longstanding commitment to educational quality, innovation and technology has enabled it to make a meaningful contribution to addressing Ethiopia's digital skills and human-resource gaps.
From Job Seekers to Job Creators
Addressing the graduates, Dr. Andualem encouraged them not to limit their aspirations to seeking employment, but to become entrepreneurs, innovators and job creators.
He emphasized that the knowledge and skills they have acquired can enable them not only to build successful careers but also to create employment opportunities for thousands of other Ethiopians.
He further stressed that the development of Ethiopia depends on human capital equipped with knowledge, skills, positive thinking and a strong sense of responsibility. He called upon the graduates to use their full potential and serve the country with determination in the professions in which they have been trained.
Technology and the Future of Finance
Reflecting on his professional experience in the financial sector, Dr. Andualem also highlighted the increasingly inseparable relationship between technology and finance.
He emphasized that information technology has become indispensable to the financial industry, particularly to the emerging investment banking sector. He expressed his belief that there will be significant opportunities for future collaboration, joint projects and partnership frameworks between MicroLink and the investment banking sector.
Dr. Andualem also pointed to the broader lesson demonstrated by the COVID-19 pandemic: information technology has become critical to maintaining economic and social activity and ensuring resilience during times of crisis.

Concluding his address, Dr. Andualem congratulated the graduates once again and urged them to transform their education into innovation, entrepreneurship, employment creation and national development.He encouraged the new generation of technology professionals to play their part in Ethiopia's technological advancement and to contribute meaningfully to the country's development and prosperity.

ማይክሮሊንክ — የኢንፎርሜሽን ቴክኖሎጂ ፈር ቀዳጅ
ዶ/ር አንዱዓለም በንግግራቸው ማይክሮሊንክ ኢንፎርሜሽን ቴክኖሎጂ ኮሌጅ ከተመሠረተ ከ27 ዓመታት በላይ ጀምሮ በኢትዮጵያ የኢንፎርሜሽን ቴክኖሎጂ ትምህርት ዘርፍ ፈር ቀዳጅ ተቋም ሆኖ የቆየ መሆኑን አድንቀዋል።
በእነዚህ ዓመታትም ኮሌጁ በኮምፒዩተር ሳይንስ፣ በኮምፒዩተር ኢንጂነሪንግ፣ በሳይበር ደህንነት፣ በኮምፒዩተር ኔትወርኪንግ እና በዳታቤዝ ማኔጅመንት የሰለጠኑ በርካታ ባለሙያዎችን ማፍራቱን በማስታወስ፣ የተቋሙ አስተዋጽኦ በኢትዮጵያ የቴክኖሎጂ የሰው ሀብት ልማት ላይ ያለውን ወሳኝ ሚና አጉልተዋል።
የማይክሮሊንክ ተመራቂዎችም በሀገራችን በተለያዩ የአመራርና የሙያ ደረጃዎች፣ ከሚኒስቴር ደረጃ እስከ ዳይሬክተርና ከፍተኛ የአመራር ቦታዎች ድረስ እያገለገሉ ይገኛሉ።
በተለይም በኢትዮ ቴሌኮም፣ በኢትዮጵያ ኤሌክትሪክ አገልግሎት፣ በኢንሳ (INSA) እንዲሁም በተለያዩ የመንግሥትና የግል ተቋማት ውስጥ በከፍተኛ የሙያና የአመራር ኃላፊነቶች ላይ የሚገኙ የማይክሮሊንክ ተመራቂዎች መኖራቸው ተቋሙ ለሀገር የቴክኖሎጂ እና የሰው ሀብት ልማት ያበረከተውን ዘላቂ አስተዋጽኦ የሚያሳይ መሆኑን ገልጸዋል።
ይህም ማይክሮሊንክ ከተመሠረተበት ጊዜ ጀምሮ በትምህርት ጥራትና በፈጠራ ላይ ያለውን ትኩረት በመቀጠል የኢትዮጵያን የቴክኖሎጂ የሰው ሀብት ክፍተት ለመሙላት ያበረከተውን ሚና የሚያረጋግጥ ነው።
ከሥራ ፈላጊነት ወደ ሥራ ፈጠራ
ዶ/ር አንዱዓለም ተመራቂዎቹ የሚያገኙትን ዕውቀትና ክህሎት በመጠቀም ሥራ ፈላጊዎች ብቻ ሳይሆኑ ሥራ ፈጣሪዎች፣ ፈጠራ አስጀማሪዎችና የሥራ ዕድል ፈጣሪዎች እንዲሆኑ አሳስበዋል።
በተማሩት ሙያ በመጠቀም ለራሳቸው የተሳካ የሙያ ጉዞ ከመገንባት ባሻገር ለሺዎች የሥራ ዕድል መፍጠር እንደሚችሉም አስታውሰዋል።
ኢትዮጵያ በእውቀት፣ በክህሎት፣ በመልካም አስተሳሰብና በውጤታማነት የተገነባ የሰው ሀብት እንደምትፈልግ በመግለጽ፣ ተመራቂዎቹ በተሰለጠኑበት ሙያ በቁርጠኝነት ለሀገሪቱ ልማትና ብልጽግና እንዲያገለግሉ ጥሪ አቅርበዋል።
ቴክኖሎጂና የፋይናንስ ዘርፍ
ዶ/ር አንዱዓለም ከሚመሩት የፋይናንስ ዘርፍ የሙያ ልምድ በመነሳት፣ በቴክኖሎጂና በፋይናንስ መካከል እየጨመረ ያለውን ትስስር አጽንዖት ሰጥተዋል።
በተለይም በኢንቨስትመንት ባንኪንግ ዘርፍ የኢንፎርሜሽን ቴክኖሎጂ ሚና የማይተካ መሆኑን በመግለጽ፣ በመጪው ጊዜ በማይክሮሊንክና በኢንቨስትመንት ባንኪንግ ዘርፍ መካከል የጋራ ፕሮጀክቶችና የትብብር ማዕቀፎች ለመፍጠር ሰፊ ዕድል እንዳለ ገልጸዋል።
በመጨረሻም ዶ/ር አንዱዓለም ተመራቂዎቹ ያገኙትን ዕውቀትና ክህሎት ወደ ፈጠራ፣ ሥራ ፈጠራ፣ የሥራ ዕድል ፈጠራ እና ሀገራዊ ልማት እንዲቀይሩ አሳስበዋል።
