Ethiopian Institute of Water Resources

This week, the EIWR (now Center for Water Research) at Addis Ababa University successfully concluded a five-day intensive certificate course on "Earth Observation for Transboundary Water Management in Africa."

We were proud to host over 60 dedicated water professionals from across the continent, including representatives from River Basin Organizations, water ministries, NGOs, and research institutions.

Participants gained hands-on experience in:
✔️ Python programming for geospatial data
✔️ Analyzing CHIRPS rainfall data
✔️ Processing global streamflow estimations
✔️ Time-series analysis for transboundary basins

A heartfelt thank you to our expert facilitators—Dr. Haileyesus Belay, Mr. Mamo Kassegn, Dr. Zeleke Agide, and Dr. Sirak Tekleab—for their outstanding leadership, and to all participants for their vibrant engagement.
