Having recently seen Creative DNA in action in Kenya and Ethiopia, Scott had the opportunity to reconnect with the programme and hear directly from designers about their creative journeys, businesses and experiences.

What does the future of African creativity look like when heritage meets innovation, identity meets new perspectives, and creativity knows no borders?

Day 2 of Africa Fashion Week London sat with these questions, tracing where African creativity stands today and where it's headed next. The conversations moved from how African heritage and identities are expressed across art forms and shaping global culture, to African textile being reimagined through future-facing design in higher education. The conversations traced what it takes to nurture the next generation of creative talent, and how African and diaspora creatives are using AI, digital art, gaming, immersive experiences and virtual fashion to redefine storytelling and build new creative economies beyond borders.

Together, these conversations showed the power of connecting creatives, institutions, and industry across the UK and Africa, creating space for exchange, collaboration, and opportunity.

It's also the spirit behind Creative DNA, supporting fashion entrepreneurs across Sub-Saharan Africa to build sustainable, globally connected businesses.

Because Africa Fashion Week London is more than a showcase; it's a platform for connection, learning and growth.

Kicking off Africa Fashion Week London 2026!

We were honoured to join our partners, Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) , at Tales House as the week officially kicked off with the press conference.

Queen Ronke Ademiluyi-Ogunwusi, Founder of AFWL, opened the week alongside our Regional Arts Director, Farai Ncube Tarwireyi, who reflected on the power of UK-Africa cultural collaboration to create new connections, open doors and expand opportunities for African fashion entrepreneurs.

A brilliant start to an exciting week celebrating African fashion and creativity in London.
