Dear Members,
I want to give you some tips about scholarship search and application.
1. Remember that scholarship application is always a tiresome process that you should never give up with some attempts rather persistently try. You may receive many regret letters at the beginning but always keep on applying.
2. Always prepare application documents in advance. Applications made in the last minute

(during deadline) often suffer with many mistakes. So you need to think about it and get ready before the deadline.
3. Remember that motivation letter (personal) statement is one of the most important part of your scholarship application package. Beyond your academic records, motivation letter is something that scholarship reviewers closely look into and assess your eligibility and prospect for success. It should be clearly able to depict who you are, what do you work, what you want to be (your dreams), your previous experiences, etc. (please read the sample motivation letter posted earlier). Before you write a motivation letter, first try to read the program description of the program you are going to apply and reflect it in your motivation letter. Prepare the motivation letter well beforehand and do not forget to have proofread (if possible by another person who knows better than you).
4. Having the best grade is not a must to win scholarships. Extracurricular activities such as participation in school clubs or internships related to the program you are applying also matter a lot and shall clearly be included in your motivation letter.
5. In order to search for scholarships, please visit directly the websites of the universities you want to attend. Most universities (especially US universities) do not advertise scholarships on main scholarship sites that we find via google search. They simply post them in their own websites. So beyond google search for scholarships, directly visit the university websites.
6. Language requirement:- most universities require TOEFL/IELTS. And to have good TOEFL or IELTS result is a plus for your scholarship application. However, if you cannot do that, you can also ask for a waiver for the language requirement explaining that you have studied all your high school and university education using English as a medium of instruction. Most of the universities waive if you send them a proof from the university you have studied before showing that the medium of instruction is English.

PhD Fellowship in Management and Marketing Available for You! I would like to share the information of fellowship for the PhD program at USTC. The CAS-TWAS President’s Fellowship Programme provides students/scholars that are non-Chinese citizens an opportunity to pursue PhD degree studies at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Fellowship awardees will receive a monthly stipend (to cover accommodation and other living expenses, local travel expenses and health insurance) of RMB 7,000 or RMB 8,000 from CAS through USTC. All awardees will also be provided tuition and admission fee waivers. I was very glad when I saw this scholarship opportunity and with this letter I would like to express my gratitude to the ------------------------ for this program. I am graduate of a University of ------- BSc degree in mathematics with honors.
Since I have a quite strong academic background in mathematics I believe that Master course in advanced mathematics perfectly suits my profile and career prospects. My ultimate goal is to work with research based groups in applied mathematics sector as well as in local universities in order to improve research and human resource capacity building through training.
Due to my financial situation I was able to continue my studies in my country or abroad, since I am not in a position to finance my studies. Therefore, I will be very grateful to be provided with scholarship to improve my education and incent my career prospects.
