Provide the right tools. You’d be amazed how much children can do for themselves, especially when they have child-sized tools, furnishings, or utensils. Provide low shelves so that they can put away their own toys, books, etc. Even very young children can return things to their proper places, hang their own coats, put laundry in the hamper, and much more. Start with things like: a step stool, a small table and chairs, a scaled-down dustpan and broom, or cups, bowls and spoons just the right size for little kids.

Children are engaged all day with different activities. We call it a happy place.

Kids First Academy is a happy place for children to be.
Children learn through play. Kids love coming to school. They learn through music and different activities.

Play is far more powerful for children, however, than many parents realize. It’s actually the key to learning. Researchers and educators across the world have found that play can help enrich learning and develop key skills such as inquiry, expression, experimentation, and teamwork.

We need to consider that young children learn in quite different ways [than adults]. They learn by comparing physical experiences, by interactions with other people and their own feelings. And they learn an enormous amount through their imagination.... Play is what pulls together the logical and creative parts of the brain.

Kids First Academy believes: The key word is “together”. Parents and guardians should be at the heart of any child’s education. Kids First Academy is a Kindergarten that is a play based school following Montessori teaching. We teach our kids practically. Kids explore environment through materials that are needed to develop their Social skills, physical skills, motor skills and language skills. The kids are thought practically. Children's work is respected and appreciated by the staff. We encourage children to be creative using their imagination in what ever activities they are engaged. Music class is incorporated in the curriculum. This includes singing and instrument play.
