A big thank you to all our guests who joined us to explore the universe and celebrate the enduring partnership between Africa and Europe under the Addis stars.

🚀Recap: Kids’ Session at the 21st GA

On Sunday, May 3rd, the 21st General Assembly hosted an interactive Kids’ Session featuring students from Bethlehem Youth Academy and Seramono School. The event focused on hands-on activities designed to broaden the children's understanding of space science and technology through practical engagement and exploration.

A major highlight was the sun-gazing activity, where students used telescopes to observe the sun and count sunspots firsthand. The session also included two presentations delivered by young students, which focused on topics within astronomy and aerospace engineering.

On Sunday, May 3rd, the Ethiopian Space Science Society (ESSS) held its 21st General Assembly, featuring a dedicated session for youth presenters. Students took the stage to share their knowledge with the public, delivering technical presentations on Astronomy, Aerospace Engineering, and Satellite Technology.

The session highlighted the technical capabilities and interest of the next generation in the space science sector. We commend these young speakers for their contributions and their commitment to advancing the field.

The scientific session of the 21st ESSS General Assembly is happening now!

The main session of the Ethiopian Space Science Society's 21st General Assembly has successfully concluded.

Held in collaboration with the Space science and geo-spatial institute (SSGI) at Elilly International Hotel, the event was officially inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Demeke Mekonnen, Patron of ESSS. The program featured key addresses from ESSS and SSGI leadership, followed by a comprehensive presentation of the annual and financial reports by the outgoing Board Chair, Mrs. Mesenbet Shenkute. Participants then held extensive discussions on the current national space ecosystem before electing a new Board of Directors, including Dr. Arega Yirdaw as Chairman , Mrs. Beza Tesfaye as Vice-Chairperson, and Dr. Alemiye Mamo as the chairperson of ESSS Diaspora Wing.
