After five months of hard work by the organizing team, led by Tihitina Tsegaw, the Hult Prize Addis Ababa University On-campus program has been nominated for "Africa Regional Program of the Year." Each nominee is permitted to run a campaign to solicit votes and garner support. The winners will be the nominees with the highest scores per region and will be crowned program of the year during the 2023 Global Finals in Paris. Tihitina Tsegaw is representing our university. This is really a great achievement that we are proud of.
Now it is time to vote. Voting will be open until August 20th, 5 PM CST. It will take you only a minute to cast your vote and support our vision for change. Here is how you can do it:

Innobiz-K Ethiopia is an ICT based innovation center jointly managed by Ministry of Innovation and Technology and KOICA Ethiopia incubating innovatives and entrepreneurs to develop their innovative ideas into the desired product or service. After incubating startups in 4 batches, the center is now preparing an idea competition and incubation for graduating students of AAU and AASTU in collaboration with the two universities.

On behalf of Hult Prize foundation on campus program , Hult Prize Addis Ababa University conducted Four trainings Starting from December 3, 2022- January 21,2023 to several Addis Ababa University students focused on creating business ideas which lead them to compete on campus, regional and global levels.

“The Hult Prize is an annual, year-long competition that crowd-sources ideas from university level students after challenging them to solve a pressing social issue around topics such as food security, water access, energy, and education. This year’s challenge being Redesign Fashion, students are challenged to come up with innovative social venture so as to make the fashion sector more sustainable ”

According to Tihitina Tsegaw, a fourth year Mechanical engineering student at AAU and First Female On Campus director of Hult Prize, The trainings aim at giving the students Perfect landing on Finding solution to our world problems ,

“ The winners of this year-long competition will be given 1 million USD as seed fund to make their Idea a reality. Moreover the competition gives our Addis Ababa University students a million ways of connecting with like-minded entrepreneurs in the business sector ,” Tihitina intensified. Tihitina further stated that Up to the point this Report is written The Addis Ababa University competition is featured twice as an impact Action From entire sub-Saharan Africa with 25+ competing teams and 13 organizing committee .She also take part in helping other universities in Ethiopia so that the impact grows more than ever .

Tihitina finally thanked the Office of the Vice President of Research and Technology Transfer of AAU for helping to organize the training , Kazan Group and 251 Communications for being gold sponsors Several other Addis Ababa University mentors, Goethe institute Addis Ababa, Addis motor Taxi, Golden sales and marketing institute for partnering with us in changing the world through social enterprise.
