በገና ሰሞን የሚደረገው የኢትዮጵያ ባህላዊ የገና ጨዋታ እረኞች የኢየሱስ ክርስቶስን መወለድ ሲሰሙ ከደስታቸው ብዛት የተነሳ እየዘለሉ በዙሪያቸው ያገኙትን እቃዎች በሙሉ በእንጨት በትራቸው እየወረወሩ ደስታቸውን እንደገለጹ እና ጨዋታውም የተጀመረው ይህንን ተከትሎ መሆኑ በአፈ ታሪክ ይነገራል ።
ጨዋታውንም በጣም ልዩ የሚያደርገው ጌቶች ከ ሎሌያቸው ጋር ያለ ገደብ በነጻነት እና በእኩልነት የሚጫወቱት ሲሆን ይህም በዚያ ዘመን በኢትዮጵያ የነጻነት፣ የእኩልነት፣ የወዳጅነት እና የደስታ ማሳያ ነበር።
* እያንዳንዱ ቡድን ቢያንስ ከ 7 እስከ 10 ተጫዋቾች አሉት
* ከመካከላቸው አንዱ ግብ ጠባቂ ነው።
* የመጫወቻ ሜዳው 300 ሜትር ርዝመትና 200 ሜትር ስፋት አለው።
* ነጥብ ለማግኘት ተጨዋቾች ኳሱን ወደ ተቀናቃኙ ግብ መምታት አለባቸው።
* መጀመሪያ ላይ ከቡድኖች የተውጣጡ ሁለት ተጫዋቾች በመሀል ሜዳ ላይ በመፋጠጥ 3 ጊዜ ዱላዎቻቸውን በማጋጨት ኳሷን ለማግኘት ይጫወታሉ
* ጨዋታው በሁለት የ30 ደቂቃ አጋማሽ የተከፈለ ሲሆን አሸናፊው ተጨማሪ ጎሎችን ያስቆጠረ ቡድን ነው።
* ከመጀመሪያዎቹ 30 ደቂቃዎች በኋላ የ10 ደቂቃ እረፍት ሲኖር ቡድኖቹ እኩል ነጥብ ካስቆጠሩ የ20 ደቂቃ የትርፍ ሰዓት ይሰጣቸዏል
