🤝A Special Visit to Cambridge Academy Ethiopia! 🏫✨

We were delighted to welcome the Ambassador of Mexico to Cambridge Academy Ethiopia for a special visit to our school community. 🌍💙

During the visit, the Ambassador toured our classrooms, met our students and experienced some of the learning, enthusiasm and energy that make up everyday life at CAE. 📚🌟

Our students also enjoyed the opportunity to engage with a member of the international diplomatic community, broadening their understanding of the world beyond the classroom and strengthening the global outlook we aim to develop across our school.

The visit was made even more memorable when the Ambassador generously shared gifts with our students, creating plenty of smiles and some very special moments. 🎁😊

We extend our sincere thanks to the Ambassador of Mexico for taking the time to visit CAE and connect with our students.

There’s no better way to start the school day than with movement, energy and plenty of smiles! Our students at Cambridge Academy Ethiopia have been getting active with our Wake Up, Shake Up activities, helping them begin the morning feeling positive and ready to learn. 🌟

At CAE, we recognise the important connection between physical activity, wellbeing and learning. Giving students opportunities to move and have fun helps them arrive in the classroom feeling energised, focused and prepared for the day ahead. 🧠💪📚

It is also another way we create a school experience where students can learn, connect, develop healthy habits and enjoy being part of our community. 💙

🌍🎶 Celebrating Culture, Music & Global Connections! 🎶🌍

Some of our talented Cambridge Academy Ethiopia choir students recently had the wonderful opportunity to perform as part of a celebration marking Mexico’s Independence Day.

Proudly representing CAE, our students performed the Ethiopian National Anthem, African Union Anthem and Mexican National Anthem before distinguished members of the diplomatic community and invited guests. Their performance demonstrated not only their musical talents, but also their confidence, professionalism and pride in representing their school. 🎤✨

Opportunities like these are an important part of the CAE experience. They allow our students to learn beyond the classroom, broaden their perspectives and engage with different cultures and communities while developing the confidence to participate on an international stage. 💙

We are incredibly proud of our choir students for representing CAE so wonderfully and contributing to this special occasion. 👏🌟

At Cambridge Academy Ethiopia, we believe that developing a love of reading opens the door to a lifetime of learning. 💙

Our Year 4 learners recently enjoyed a wonderful library lesson, taking time to explore different books, discover new ideas and experience the simple joy of becoming absorbed in a good story. 📖

Our library is more than a place to find books—it is a space where curiosity grows, imagination comes alive and independent learning is encouraged. Regular opportunities to read help our students develop their vocabulary, comprehension, communication skills and confidence as learners. 🌱

🔬🌿 Science Beyond the Classroom! 🌿🔬

Our Year 11 Biology students recently took their learning outdoors for a hands-on investigation into ecosystems and biodiversity. 🌱

Using real ecological research techniques, including quadrat sampling, species population calculations and biodiversity analysis, students identified organisms, estimated populations and investigated species abundance within a local habitat.

This practical experience gave students the opportunity to take concepts from the classroom and apply them in a real-world environment, developing important skills in observation, scientific enquiry, teamwork, problem-solving and data analysis. 📊🧠

🛡️💙 Safeguarding Is Everyone’s Responsibility

At Cambridge Academy Ethiopia, providing a safe, caring and supportive environment for every child is at the heart of what we do.

As part of our continued commitment to strengthening professional practice across the school, our staff recently took part in Child Safeguarding and Protection Awareness Training. The session focused on helping staff understand their individual responsibilities when working with children, recognise possible signs of concern, and know the correct procedures for reporting and responding to safeguarding concerns.

Safeguarding is not simply a policy or procedure—it is part of our everyday school culture. By ensuring that our staff are knowledgeable, confident and vigilant, we continue to strengthen a community where children feel safe, valued, listened to and protected. 🌱

🌿✨ Fresh Air, Exploration & Learning in EYFS! ✨🌿

At Cambridge Academy Ethiopia, learning begins from the moment our youngest children arrive. Our EYFS learners recently enjoyed a wonderful morning of outdoor continuous provision, making the most of our beautiful garden and outdoor learning environment. 💙

Through purposeful play, children had opportunities to explore independently, make choices, solve problems, communicate and collaborate with their friends. Our teachers were alongside them, observing their learning, building relationships and capturing those special “wow” moments that help us understand each child’s individual development. 🌱

This is what learning in EYFS at CAE is all about—creating engaging experiences that build confidence, curiosity and independence, while allowing every child to learn and develop through play.

⏰ A reminder for our EYFS families: Arriving between 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. gives your child the opportunity to take part in our valuable morning outdoor play and start their day ready to explore and learn.

At Cambridge Academy Ethiopia, we want our students to do more than find the right answer—we want them to think, question, explore and understand. 🧠💙

Our Year 4 pupils demonstrated this beautifully during a recent Maths lesson as they explored how to reflect 2D shapes along a line of symmetry. Through practical activities, they investigated position and orientation, tested their ideas and used mathematical reasoning to create accurate reflections. 🔷

The classroom was filled with curiosity, collaboration and purposeful learning as pupils shared their thinking, explained their reasoning and learned from one another. 🌟

Experiences like these reflect the high-quality teaching and active learning we aim to provide at CAE—helping students develop the confidence, problem-solving skills and independence they need for future success.

✨ Celebrating Culture, Community & New Beginnings at CAE! ✨

At Cambridge Academy Ethiopia, we believe that celebrating our culture and heritage helps our students develop a strong sense of identity, belonging and respect for the community around them.

Our wonderful Year 1 students brought this to life during a special assembly celebrating Ethiopian New Year. Through music, cultural traditions and joyful performances, our young learners confidently shared the spirit of the celebration with the wider school community. 🌼🎶

It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn through participation, build confidence and celebrate the richness of Ethiopian culture together. Moments like these are an important part of the CAE experience—combining learning, character development and community. 💙
