QAPEQ aims at bridging the divide between students and policy-making, and creating channels of feedback and support.

Winners of QPEC 2018 collectively took home a total of 32,000 ETB! Awards were given for teams that scored first and second highest scores under 4 categories: Conceptual Understanding, Analysis and Application, Creativity and Innovation, and Presentation of Ideas.

First place winners (4 teams) were awarded 5000 ETB each, while those who stood Second Place took home 2000 ETB each. This year, we had a three-way tie for Second Place under the 'Analysis and Application Category leading to 6 Second Place Awards. Congratulations to all teams and their dedicated teachers/parents for supporting students throughout their QPEC journey!

Successfully concluded this year’s QINE Practical Education Challenge (QPEC), with presentations by 11 student teams from 9 high schools in Addis Abeba. Students researched, analyzed and forwarded creative solutions to Addis Abeba’s waste management problem. Through months of their QPEC journey from round 1 to 3, students improved their critical thinking, research and writing skills. Congratulations to all, and onwards and upwards together!

We are thrilled to announce that QPEC 2018 is back with a theme of waste management, one of the pressing issues in Ethiopia.

You might have heard the news about a local landfill reaching maximum capacity and collapsing or of Addis fighting against the rapid increase of waste. You probably walk by several places that lost their beauty due to inappropriate waste disposal. These challenges call for new innovative ways to approach and solve the growing waste problem.
