Why did the Prophet ﷺ fast so much in Sha‘bān?

Not to exhaust the body — but to prepare the soul.

Sha‘bān was his training ground,
a quiet preparation before Ramaḍān.
What you prepare now
will carry you later.

🤲 O Allah, prepare our hearts before Ramaḍān arrives.

“That is a month people neglect between Rajab and Ramaḍān, and it is a month in which deeds are raised to the Lord of the worlds, so I love that my deeds be raised while I am fasting.” — Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Nabiin ﷺ ji’a Sha‘baan sooma baay’ee soomuu isaanii lubbu isaanii qopheessuuf ture.

Sha‘baan ji’a qophii qalbii fi qaamaa ti — Ramadaanaaf of haa qopheessinu.

ነቢዩ ﷺ በሻዕባን ወር ብዙ ይጾሙ ነበር:: ነፍሳቸውን ለማዘጋጀት።

ሻዕባን የልብ ዝግጅት ወር ነው — ለረመዳን የምንዘጋጅበት።

🫀 A Daily Habit That Changes Everything

Yaa Kan qalbii namaa geeddaru, qalbii keenya gara Keetti deebisi.

One of the most powerful habits a believer can build is constantly turning to Allah for steadfastness.

Our hearts change, weaken, and fluctuate — and only Allah controls them.
Make this duʿāʾ part of your daily life:

“O Turner of hearts, turn our hearts to You.”
The Prophet ﷺ used to frequently make this duʿāʾ, teaching us that guidance is not something we earn once — it is something we ask for constantly.

يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ

If the Prophet ﷺ feared the change of the heart, then we need this duʿāʾ even more.

Haqaaf dhaabbadhaa, yoo ofii kee yookaan warra (haadhaa fi abbaa) irratti ta’ellee. Fedhiin kee(wanni ati barbaaddu) akka haqa irraa si hin jallisne.

“Stand firm for justice — even if it is against yourself or your own parents.
And do not let your desires lead you away you from the truth.”

— Surah An-Nisa 4:135
