🚀 In case you missed it: back in June, CIHEAM Zaragoza held its First Mediterranean Food Entrepreneurship Week, bringing together 16 professionals from Egypt, France, Jordan, Lebanon, Spain, Tunisia and Türkiye.

Organised with AECID and the technical support of Aje Zaragoza, the course combined workshops, mentoring sessions and technical visits, helping participants validate their business models, explore access to finance and prepare pitches for potential investors.

A successful first edition — and a foundation for a regional platform for knowledge-sharing and collaboration among entrepreneurs, researchers and institutions across the Mediterranean.

Plant health is a cornerstone of food security and resilience across the Mediterranean. Pests, pathogens, trade pressures and climate change are testing phytosanitary systems region-wide — stronger surveillance and closer cooperation have never mattered more.

Organised as a complementary activity to the REMESAVE regional workshop (Mediterranean Plant Health Network), led by the FAO Sub-Regional Office for North Africa, this symposium brings together technical experts, institutional representatives, researchers and other stakeholders to discuss current and emerging threats — and to identify concrete opportunities for regional collaboration.
