Hoy finalizan en el CIHEAM Zaragoza las XIII Jornadas Nacionales de Fruticultura y las III Jornadas de Citricultura, organizadas por el CITA Aragón, la Sociedad Española de Ciencias Hortícolas (SECH) y el CIHEAM Zaragoza.

Ponencias, debates, pósteres científicos, visitas técnicas y encuentros informales han convertido nuestra sede en un espacio de diálogo entre investigadores, empresas y profesionales comprometidos con el futuro de la fruticultura y la citricultura.

Porque los avances del sector también surgen de la colaboración, el intercambio de experiencias y la construcción de redes entre quienes trabajan para responder a los mismos desafíos.

Gracias a todos los participantes por contribuir al éxito de esta edición y por hacer de Zaragoza un punto de encuentro para la innovación hortofrutícola.

Proud to contribute to the Horizon Europe project, which is driving innovative solutions to tackle climate change in aquaculture.

Last week, we took part in the project’s annual meeting in Hungary. Together with CIHEAMBari, we presented the progress achieved and the next activities planned within the capacity-building and knowledge transfer programme.

This programme includes webinars, advanced courses, training workshops and a virtual demonstration platform, all designed to ensure the widest possible dissemination of the project’s results, conclusions and recommendations.

Addressing key challenges, such as climate change, is central to CIHEAM Zaragoza’s work in fisheries and aquaculture.

Siempre la recordaremos como una de las figuras más emblemáticas del Instituto, una de esas personas que dejan huella. Su carácter arrollador, su risa contagiosa y su personalidad única forman ya parte de nuestra memoria y de nuestra historia.

Del 16 al 18 de junio, el CIHEAM Zaragoza acoge las XIII Jornadas Nacionales de Fruticultura y las III Jornadas de Citricultura, organizadas por el CITA Aragón, la Sociedad Española de Ciencias Hortícolas y el CIHEAM Zaragoza.

La mesa inaugural ha estado integrada por Pilar Errea Abad, directora del CITA Aragón; Francisco José Arenas Arenas, presidente de la SECH y director de IFAPA Las Torres; María José Rubio-Cabetas, coordinadora de las jornadas; y Antonio López-Francos, en representación del CIHEAM Zaragoza. También se rindió un emotivo homenaje a la memoria de José Luis Espada Carbó, recientemente fallecido.

Durante estos tres días, investigadores, técnicos, empresas y profesionales del sector compartirán conocimientos, resultados y experiencias sobre algunos de los grandes retos que afronta el sector frutícola y citrícola: adaptación al cambio climático, mejora genética, sanidad vegetal, sostenibilidad, gestión del agua, innovación tecnológica y nuevos modelos de producción.

Más allá de las ponencias y debates, estas jornadas representan una oportunidad para fortalecer la colaboración entre ciencia y sector productivo, impulsando soluciones que contribuyan a una agricultura más competitiva, resiliente y sostenible.

El CIHEAM Zaragoza da la bienvenida a todos los participantes a esta cita de referencia para la horticultura española.

On 2–3 June 2026, project partners gathered to take stock of the progress achieved during the first 18 months of Insist-Vat and shape the next steps of the project. Discussions focused on the training needs identified among farmers, advisors and institutions in Albania, as well as on the benchmarking of European vocational agricultural training systems and good practices that will shape the future training centre in the Universiteti Bujqësor i Tiranës - Faqja Zyrtare.

For CIHEAM Zaragoza, leading WP5, this marks a key moment in the project. We are now moving from analysis to action, translating the needs assessments, analyses and benchmarking work carried out so far into concrete training plans that will support farmers, advisors and agricultural institutions.

In parallel to the meeting, CIHEAM Zaragoza signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Universiteti i Prishtinës, reinforcing our commitment to collaboration in research, training and rural development across the Mediterranean region.

🤝 Thank you to all partners for the productive discussions. We look forward to the next phase of the project towards a stronger Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) in Albania!
