The best way to appreciate the culture of any area is through its food and its wine. Based in beautiful Vejer de la Frontera (on the Costa de la Luz in Cadiz Province, Andalucia), Annie B’s food and wine filled cooking holidays, courses and tours give you a unique insight into Spanish food with creative hands-on classes using deli

cious local ingredients, with a hint of exotic Moroccan flavours and more than just a splash of Spanish wine and Sherry. With a relaxed, fun and collaborative atmosphere the cooking classes are an ideal food experience for both groups and singles. All classes are English speaking. Sign up to one of our cooking courses and you’ll spend the day cooking up a storm, while by night you can explore the town’s tapas bars and restaurants before returning to a fabulous hotel. Free days can be spent exploring the fabulous historic cities of Cadiz or Jerez, or simply stretched out on one of the stunning nearby beaches. In addition to set courses, Annie also offers bespoke food and wine tours exploring an area of southern Spain which remains relatively undiscovered. From visits to Sherry bodegas and vineyards to tapas tours and day trips to Tangier, all are handpicked and coordinated for you by Annie B.

An incredible live concert last night — without seeing a single musician. 🎺💛

The Lady of Vejer — Nuestra Señora de la Oliva, beloved patroness of Vejer de la Frontera, arrived last night for her annual two-week residence in the main church.

Her arrival heralds two weeks of joy, celebration and partying. If you have roots in Vejer, this is when you come home.

The wonderfully emotional sound of the brass band follows her through the streets until she finally reaches the church, and the strong men and women who have had the privilege of carrying her can at last rest.

The streets fill, balconies come alive and the whole town seems to stop to welcome her.

Religious or not, it’s difficult not to be moved by moments like this. It’s tradition, community and a very deep sense of belonging — and one of those occasions when I’m reminded just how special it is to be part of Vejer. 💛

Two extraordinary traditions. One unforgettable week in Cádiz. May 2027

For years I’ve introduced guests to two of the most fascinating traditions in Cádiz – the ancient Almadraba bluefin tuna fishery and the extraordinary wines of the Sherry Triangle.

Now, for the first time, I’ve brought them together in one unforgettable week.

This isn’t just about eating exceptional food and drinking remarkable wines. It’s about meeting the people who keep these traditions alive, understanding why Cádiz is unlike anywhere else in Spain, and experiencing places and stories that most visitors never discover.

We’ll witness the centuries-old bluefin tuna harvest, enjoy spectacular food, visit outstanding wineries, taste wines directly from the cask, wander beautiful Vejer, Jerez, Sanlucar and discover why this corner of Andalucía has captured my heart for almost two decades.
