You want to get better at French (or languages in general) ?
Start watching, observing, identifying patterns.
A language is a system.
The system is intricate and full of rules, yes.
It is hard, yes.
You’ll make mistake, of course ! I do too in English or Spanish.
But come on, you’re way more able than you think you are. Stop thinking and questioning everything and start LOOKING. The pattern, the answer, the solution is usually in front of your eyes.
When we finished this class, my student said to me « thank you, you make me feel really good about myself ».
Teaching how to think and how to act around French is the way to make someone feel confident in French.
There’s no progress without discomfort.
What’s your take on that ?

Being an independant teacher and being able to live from it after struggling for so long is a source of pride and the total incarnation of my values.
But how can I leave the selling per hour system ?
Since my business is essentially based on meeting women and creating real connection with them, I can’t just stop doing that.
How do I make that system work well for everyone’s week being, including mine ?
Suggestions, shared experience, others teachers insights are welcome 🥺🙏
French becomes powerful when it connects to someone’s real life, real struggles, real situation.
Some students come to me after months or years of learning French, and they’re just stuck.
Stuck because they didn’t understand something and no one ever explained it to them in a simple way.
Stuck because they don’t really understand what « verb », « noun », « adjective » mean.
Stuck they don’t know that they don’t know.
I’m showing them that they CAN do it. It’s all about guidance, patience, and holding their hands.
A student who does not know something should never feel ashamed. A teacher who does not listen though, may need to double-check their intentions.
🤔 Have you ever had a similar situation ? Being stuck for months on something basic that you just needed to be told ?

I’ve been wanting to do this concept first seen on account but I’m so tired of screens I usually just call people.
Today I had a normal text convo with a dear friend and thought it was time to share some real French texting with you ❤️
What did you think of it ? mdr
Speaking is a skill, not a reward.
When you keep seeing French as something you must master before being allowed to use it, you just ruin your chances to reach confidence.
Being uncomfortable is what brings you to fluency, not the other way around.
Come be a little uncomfortable this Friday, 2 spots are left for French conversation session (B1 min. )

Merci pour ces conversations toujours très intéressantes 🌍
I love that learning languages means connecting, ans creating genuine relationships. Speaking another language is your door to the world ! French is a tool you can use to connect!
Don’t forget to follow Jessica to have a peak at French food culture, and culinary experiences in Lyon 🇫🇷
If you also want to speak French casually, 3 spots are left for the next group conversation session on Friday 26th! All info is on my profile 🔗
This is not my usual content and its longer but after a long conversation with one of my student who is stay-at-home mom, I felt the need to say this out loud.
Should I go more into details about the issues with DELF and introduce TCF to you ?
The fun fact that one participant shared with us during our session of French conversation last Friday was totally unexpected.
And it made me laugh a lot hahaha
Come share your random facts during the next session on June 26th. All the information is on my profile. 📆🔗
French conversation can be empowering and freeing. It gives you the chance to see where you’re at, to see if you’re able to communicate, and most importantly : to have fun in the language you’re studying. 🌷🥰
Merci à Jackie (Irlande), Catarina (Portugal) et Aline (États-Unis) pour leur participation !
Join me and Aline (who already booked her spot) on the 26th of June for a new conversation. Toujours au niveau B1 minimum, le sujet est : l’écologie est-elle vraiment utile ?
