As a result, the need of applying techniques to analyze and extract information of those data has become a crucial task. The intelligent analysis of data opens a new way of addressing problems impossible to deal with so far.

IDAL members José M. Martínez and Pablo Escandell attended during the end of April to the 20 th European Symposium on Artificial Neural Networks, that was held in Brugge (Belgium) between 25 and 27 April. They presented two papers entitled "Extended visualization method for classification trees" and "Regularized committee of extreme learning machine for regression problems ". The meeting was a success, and Brugge was a superb scenario for the conference.
José D. Martín was co-organizer of a special session, and together with Héctor Ruiz (IDAL collaborator) presented a paper entitled "Constructing similarity networks using the Fisher information metric".
