GAJE & IJCLE Conference Valencia 2011 GAJE & IJCLE Conference Valencia 2011 The host for both conferences is the Institute for Human Rights at the University of Valencia.

The 6th Worldwide Conference of the Global Alliance for Justice Education (GAJE) and the 9th International Journal of Legal Education (IJCLE) Conference with be held concurrently in Valencia on 11-15 July 2011. Other local partners include the Legal Clinic at the University of Valencia; the Human Rights Institute Bartolomé de las Casas at University Carlos III in Madrid, the Legal Clinic “Dret al Dret” at the University of Barcelona, and CEDAT (Centre d’Estudis de Dret Ambiental de Tarragona) at the University Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona. The conference will take place at the University of Valencia School of Law. The Valencia GAJE and IJCLE conferences will bring together delegates with a wide range of shared interests, with each conference contributing its own theme. Conference sessions will be organized in various steams, some of which will follow the GAJE conference theme and others will follow the IJCLE conference theme. The GAJE theme is “Combatting Social Injustice Through Justice Education”; the IJCLE theme is “Life, the Universe and Clinic: What questions does Clinic answer?”

The 9th GAJE Worldwide Conference will be held in Mexico 5-12 December 2017.
Here are the particulars (full details, including the online registration form, can be found on the GAJE website at www.gaje.org/conferences/9th-worldwide-conference):

o The conference will take place on the campuses of Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, in Puebla, and Universidad Autónoma of Tlaxcala, in Tlaxcala. (Puebla and Tlaxcala are both located approximately 125 kilometers southeast of the Mexico City International Airport.) It will consist of two parts: 1) a General Conference with plenaries and concurrent sessions on various themes and topics (5-9 December in Puebla); and 2) a Training-of-Trainers (TOT) workshop on practical aspects for implementing justice education, including clinical teaching methods (11-12 December in Tlaxcala).
o The overall conference topic is “Breaking Down Walls: The Transformative Power of Justice Education”; sessions will be organized into eight thematic streams:
§ How Social Justice Education Advances Human Rights and Social Change
§ Resources and Methodologies for Justice Education
§ How Can A Law Clinic Be Sustainable?
§ Overcoming “Walls” And Barriers to Promotion of Human Rights, Social Justice, and Legal Education Reform
§ Regional, Transnational, and International Collaboration
§ Pro Bono and Legal Clinics
§ New Initiatives and Innovations in Justice Education
§ Public Interest Law Initiatives Meet Clinical Legal Education Programs
o Fees, waivers and grants: The registration fee is $US 350 for the General Conference and $US 425 for both the General Conference and the Training-of-Trainers (TOT) workshop. (Starting on September 30 there will be late fees of $US 425 for the General Conference and $US 500 for both the General Conference and the TOT workshop.) Persons who cannot pay the full conference fee can request a fee waiver or a fee reduction by completing a special section of the registration form. GAJE also provides a limited number of grants for travel and accommodations.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING DEADLINES: The registration deadline is 15 November. HOWEVER: The deadline for applications for travel/accommodation grants (including those requesting both a grant and fee waiver/reduction) is 1 June; the deadline for submission of proposals is also 1 June; the deadline for applications requesting only a fee waiver/reduction (that is, without also requesting a grant) is 15 September.

Dear all,
As you know, the European Network for Clinical Legal Education (ENCLE) will host its annual conference on the 27th and 28th October 2016 at the Faculty of Law, University of Valencia (Spain). The conference, entitled “Clinical Legal Education and Access to Justice for all: from asylum seekers to excluded communities”, aims to bring clinicians together from across Europe (and above) to discuss all aspects of teaching and learning, learn from each other and share best practices on how to improve the access to justice to, in particular, vulnerable persons, through clinical legal education.

We are pleased to inform you, that the Registration for the 4th ENCLE Conference is now open. The Registration to the Conference is open until the 30th September 2016.
However, if you apply for a fee waiver or travel grant, the deadline is the 31st August 2016.
Please note in addition, that the call for paper is still open until the 30th August 2016 (see again the Call for Papers attached).
