DID YOU KNOW ABOUT VALENCIA THAT.....

There is a really good event celebrated day and night in Valencia, "Las Fallas". At this festival the Valencian people block the streets with towering sculptured statues in quite a particular way by the artisans that have spent the previous year making them.

The Valencia Fallas are held between the 12th and 19th of March. All day and night, crowds of locals and foreigners fill the streets and the sounds of exploding firecrackers and fireworks fill the air.

You never know, you might even be one of those people that light the firecrackers. Then at the end of the festivities, the huge statues or "ninots" are given prizes, then set of fire; that is the end of "Las Fallas" and the beginning of spring.
