Me llama la atención 🤔👀

It literally means “It calls my attention”, a colloquial expression we use in Spain to say things like:

➡️ I find it interesting ➡️ I’ve noticed something ➡️ Something caught my attention

And just like ‘Gustar’, this verb uses the indirect object pronouns: me, te, le, nos, os, les.

For example: ¿Te llama la atención el flamenco? A Marta le llamó la atención el pelo de ese chico. Nos llama la atención la música del sitio.

This is a simple way to tell people “Let’s keep in touch”, it can be used in a casual or formal way.

La sensación térmica 🌡☀️❄️

Remember that in Spanish we use the term ‘Sensación térmica’ when we refer to the degrees that ‘it feels like’ in the weather.

And that’s the term that is showed on the weather app or website, very different! 📲

Sorry not Sorry... 🌶️

But if you’re relying solely on Duolingo to speak Spanish fluently, you might be in for a surprise

Sure, Duolingo is a great tool for practicing vocabulary and keeping your skills active

But let’s be real – it won’t help you have an actual conversation with native speakers 🤷🏻‍♀️

When you use a learning resource with no feedback: No one’s listening to your pronunciation, correcting your mistakes or explaining to you how the constructions work.

Menos mal 😌🙏🏽

Remember that in Spanish we use this amazing phrase ‘Menos mal’ to express relief about a situation. Use it and you will sound such like a local 🌶️

Notas:
➡️ We don’t take the literal meaning “Less bad”, it wouldn’t make sense to us
➡️ You can use it as a single phrase “¡Menos mal”
➡️ Or you can add more information using “que” —> Menos mal que hoy no trabajo
