Pilates and Wellness business coaching
The AHA Business Coaching program offers guidance, support, encouragement, and accountability on each phase of your journey, from planning to implementation. Highly personalized attention for those who are committed to reaching their goals SOON, not “someday.”

One-to-One coaching works best if you are:

** A woman solopreneur in the health, wellness, and fitness industry who’s ready to play a bigger game and get better results: more impact, more income, more balance

** At the beginning of your journey and want plenty of individualized attention as you embark on your new venture

** At any stage of business, and have tried to figure it out by yourself, but haven’t been able to reach your goals (or even identify your goals)

** Willing to try new ways of doing things, and understand that growth in business goes hand in hand with personal growth

** Committed to reaching your goals sooner – rather than never – and want to gain the skills and strategy to make it happen

** Inspired by a challenge and take full responsibility for your actions; you’re looking for a mentor, not a savior

** Ready to let go of struggling, and feel more in the flow of your business and life. Coaching with Anita includes:

Exactly what you need to help you move forward efficiently and effectively, so that you can impact more people, earn more money, and a live a life of contentment and joy:

○ Guidance, support, structure
○ Accountability, brainstorming, cheerleading
○ Insight, practical tips, suggestions
○ Tools, resources, worksheets
○ Specific action steps to keep you moving forward

Regularly scheduled 1:1 coaching sessions, plus “just in time” support between sessions
Connections to other clients and influencers as appropriate
Materials review → feedback as needed on your website copy, brochures, etc. And of course, plenty of compassionate ass-kicking to help you move outside your comfort zone, because that’s where the magic happens! I help you move through your blocks so that you create lasting positive change in your business and life. No more throwing darts and hoping for a bullseye. Many of my clients were ready to turn their love of Pilates, wellness, or fitness into a viable business, but lacked the confidence to “put themselves out there.” Or they had hit a revenue plateau and needed help moving past it. Many were bumping up against marketing blocks or they weren’t sure how to start offering workshops, trainings, and online classes, as well as take on more private clients. If any of that sounds similar to you, our coaching partnership will help you get clear on what’s standing between you and your dreams, and provide you with a clear path forward. FULL TRANSPARENCY: 1-on-1 coaching is for people who are eager to change and grow, and understand that there is no miracle solution – that it takes time, energy, and financial commitment to reach your goals. If you are looking for the least expensive solution, as opposed to the best possible solution, then this won’t be a good fit. 1-on-1 coaching is an investment in YOU, your clients, and your business. But if your impact and income have been stagnant, or you don’t want to waste any more time not getting the results you desire, then it might be the solution you’re looking for. What is the true cost of not moving forward and fulfilling your dreams? The best way to find out if this is the right opportunity for you is to schedule a 60-minute complimentary Discovery Call*. Wondering what it’s like to work together? Learn more about how I help you reach your goals:

I have a unique talent for “getting” my clients quickly, and pinpointing the kind of support they need in order to up their game. You will feel seen, heard, and unequivocally supported. I am a champion for your highest potential and have the ability to steer you in the right direction, even if the path occasionally seems murky to you. I am both highly intuitive and analytical, and bring “both sides of my brain” to our relationship. I pride myself on recognizing how each person and situation is unique, so that I can give you the exact mix of guidance, accountability, skill-building, cheerleading, and resources that you need to be successful. I fully embrace the philosophy that business growth can’t be separated from personal growth, and my clients get better results because of it. Let’s face it. If you all you had to do to grow your business was learn the “secret formula” (or “crack the code” or whatever else it’s called these days), you would have figured it out by now. Most of the entrepreneurial skills you need in order to succeed are things you can learn online for free, and you are certainly smart enough to track down that information. But that’s not why you are stuck. Most of us are stuck because we feel overwhelmed. We procrastinate in the name of making things more perfect. We lack the confidence to try something new. Or we let our head talk our heart out of what we really want – convincing ourselves that our deepest desires will never ever come true. I GET IT and want to help you face these challenges head on! If you’re up for it, your business can be the perfect playground to practice letting go of habits that no longer serve you, and trying on a new set of patterns that will empower your business AND life. I’m a successful wellness professional and love teaching clients what I know. Are you trying to get more private clients? Want to fill a workshop or lead your own trainings? Maybe you want to build an online community, lead webinars, and create your own digital courses? Or maybe, you simply want to make a sustainable living and end the cycle of overworking and under earning. Hallelujah to all of that! As a successful Pilates professional for nearly 20 years, there’s an excellent chance that I have done (and done well) many of the very things you are trying to figure out, as well as coached hundreds of other wellness professionals on how to do the same. I’ve taught and presented locally, nationally, internationally, and virtually; and have a deep familiarity with the health and wellness industry. And yes, I make a great living doing what I love. By working with someone who is both a business coach AND a successful wellness professional, your own results will come much more quickly. I have a business background (I am an ex accountant!) and believe in empowering my clients to become the rockstar CEOs of their own empires. Yes – I used the word empire! Because even if all you want is to have a bustling private practice in your own local community (a very worthy goal), you deserve to feel fully confident as a solo-preneur. You will get way more bang for your buck if you learn how to fish, rather than relying on me to do the fishing for you. So while it may sometimes be easier for me to simply tell you what the best approach is, I always want you to understand the “how” and the “why” so that you will become increasingly self-sufficient (while still being insanely well supported!). In addition to my coach training, I’ve been fortunate to gain some fantastic business and entrepreneurial experience in a previous careers in the corporate industry around the world. I can introduce you to good business practices in a non-intimidating manner if you’re new to this, or share more advanced strategies and tactics with you if that’s what you need. I’m equally experienced growing local/live businesses as well as online communities. If you’re ready to start gaining clarity and finally bust through your business plateaus, book your complimentary Discovery Call now. APPLY NOW by emailing: [email protected]

Every Pilates instructor knows that pause.

It’s 8:57. Class starts in three minutes. Your new client arrives and tells you they have two herniated discs.

You smile, nod… and your brain immediately starts running through everything you need to consider.

What can they do?

What should you avoid?

What needs to be modified?

What should you ask them?

Are there any red flags?

And how do you adapt the work without simply throwing the entire repertoire out?

Here’s the part nobody says out loud:

That gap isn’t necessarily a personal failure.

Many Pilates teacher training programmes teach you the repertoire — the exercises, the terminology, the cueing, the sequencing.

But being able to teach Pilates safely and intelligently to the individual in front of you requires something more.

It requires observation, understanding, clinical reasoning, experience and the ability to make appropriate modifications.

And this is something I believe should be part of teacher education.

Because your client doesn’t walk into your studio as a perfect Pilates body from a textbook.

They walk in with their history.

Their injuries.

Their limitations.

Their strengths.

Their fears.

Their compensations.

Their individual way of moving.

And your job as a teacher is not simply to put them through the repertoire.

It is to teach the body in front of you.

This is why, within my comprehensive teacher training at Anita Horry Academy, we spend time going beyond simply learning exercises.

We explore how to observe the individual, how to understand what you are seeing, how to ask the right questions, when something may need further assessment, and how to adapt the work while respecting the principles and integrity of Pilates.

Because knowing 500 exercises doesn’t automatically make you a great teacher.

Knowing when, why and how to use them is where the real teaching begins.

The more experience you gain, the more you realise that everybody is different; and every client requires you to think.

That is the teacher I want to develop.

Not someone who simply knows the repertoire.

Someone who can see, understand, adapt and teach.

If you’re ready to develop those skills and deepen your understanding beyond simply learning the repertoire, explore the Anita Horry Academy Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training Program.

The same Pilates exercise can have a different purpose for every client.

What matters is not only the exercise you choose, but why you choose it.

Learn how observation, intention and thoughtful teaching can change the way you work with each body.

Introduction One of the most important things a Pilates teacher can learn is that an exercise does not have one single purpose. The movement may look the same, but what you are asking the client to achieve can be very different. The same exercise can challenge strength in one person, improve coordin...

TODAY'S TIP: Go Beyond What You Know

Being a good Pilates teacher is not about knowing everything. It is about staying curious enough to keep learning.

The longer you teach, the more questions you should have.

Why does this exercise work the way it does?

Why is this client struggling with it?

What is the principle behind the movement?

Could I explain it differently?

What am I seeing that I didn't notice before?

Depth comes from being willing to look beyond the surface of an exercise and understand the principles that make the work meaningful.

Don't be afraid to question what you know. Continue studying, observing, practising, and exploring. Your original teacher training gives you a foundation, but your education does not have to end there.

The more you understand, the more thoughtfully you can teach.

Great Pilates teaching is not about having the perfect exercise ready for every client.

It is about knowing how to observe, when to adapt, and how to make thoughtful choices based on the person in front of you.

That is exactly what these four workshops explore.

You’ll have the opportunity to look more closely at different client needs, develop your teaching eye, and build greater confidence in situations that require more than simply following the repertoire.

💬 **Which workshop is right for you?**
Scroll through the carousel, see which topic connects with your teaching, and choose the workshop that will help you grow where you need it most.

And if you want to take a deeper dive, join Anita Horry for all four workshops and spend the weekend learning, observing, questioning, and refining your approach.

MYTH OR FACT?

“You need to understand why a client is compensating before you decide how to correct it.”

FACT.

Seeing compensation is only the beginning.

The important question is: why is it happening?

A client may be compensating because of limited mobility, lack of control, difficulty understanding the movement, an inappropriate level of challenge, or another factor affecting how they perform the exercise.

Simply correcting what you see without understanding what is causing it can mean missing the bigger picture.

Good teaching starts with observation.

Look at how the client moves. Notice what changes when you adjust the exercise, the cue, the resistance, or the range. Ask yourself what the movement is telling you before deciding what needs to change.

The goal is not to correct every difference you see.

The goal is to understand the movement well enough to make an intelligent teaching decision.

Observe first. Understand the reason. Then decide how to respond.

This is where deeper teaching knowledge makes a difference. The more you understand movement and the individual in front of you, the more purposeful your corrections can become.

A knowledgeable teacher knows the exercises.

A thoughtful teacher looks beyond the exercise and takes the time to understand the person performing it.
Great Pilates teaching is not simply about knowing what comes next. It is about observing movement, recognising individual needs, understanding what the body is communicating, and using your knowledge to make better teaching decisions.

The goal is not to make every person fit the exercise.

The goal is to understand how the exercise can serve the person.
When teachers develop their ability to observe, think critically, and adapt their approach, they can create more meaningful learning experiences and better support each client's movement and progress.

Knowledge gives you the foundation. Understanding helps you teach with purpose.

ARE YOU TEACHING THE EXERCISE OR THE PERSON IN FRONT OF YOU?

Knowing the Pilates repertoire is important, but knowing the exercises is only the foundation.

Great teaching requires you to observe, understand, adapt, and make intelligent decisions based on the individual in front of you.

Everybody moves differently. Every client brings different experiences, abilities, challenges, and goals into the studio. That means effective teaching cannot always come from simply following the same instructions for everyone.

The deeper your understanding becomes, the better you can recognise what you are seeing, understand what the movement is telling you, and choose the right cue, correction, modification, or progression.

Don't just learn more exercises. Learn to see the person performing them.

Take your teaching deeper with Anita Horry Academy and develop the knowledge and practical skills to make thoughtful decisions for the body in front of you.

TODAY’S TIP: Let Your Actions Set the Example

Leadership is not only about what you tell people. It is also reflected in how you show up every day.

The way you prepare for a class, communicate with clients, respond when something goes wrong, and interact with the people around you all sends a message about what you value.

If you want to create a culture of professionalism, consistency, and respect, start by demonstrating those qualities yourself.

For Pilates teachers and studio owners, your actions can influence the people you work with more than you realise. Your team notices how you handle pressure. Your clients notice how you communicate. Your colleagues notice how you treat others.

Small actions repeated consistently can become the standard others follow.

Take a moment to ask yourself: What am I demonstrating through my actions every day?

The example you set can shape the environment around you, strengthen trust, and contribute to a stronger professional culture.

👉 Ready to strengthen your teaching, leadership, and professional standards? Explore the AHA Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training and continue developing your knowledge and skills through comprehensive education and mentorship.
