Qué difícil resumir una jornada de como la de hoy, en la que nos hemos atravesado dos comunidades autónomas (Aragón y Com. Valenciana) pero un solo territorio: el o según se nombre a uno u otro lado del puente de la Pobla del Ballestar (Villafranca).
Por momentos los muros de piedra seca se convirtieron en “pasarela” donde posaban Collalbas grises, Escribanos trigueros o Bisbitas pratenses o en improvisados trípodes desde donde fotografiarlos.
El Albergue de nos acogió en su hide para seguir fotografiando Verdecillos o Gorriones chillones, mientras Abejeros en paso hacían las delicias de los que paseaban por sus alrededores.
Y ni siquiera la hora de comer supuso un descanso puesto que desde su comedor, a la par que degustamos un suculento”arròs al forn”, seguimos pajareando por sus ventanas.
Y en los alrededores de nos dió esquinazo el Escribano hortelano pero su histórica ermita de Sant Pere puso el punto final a la jornada de pajareo sobrevolados por Chovas piquirrojas.
🇬🇧 How difficult it is to summarize a day of like today, in which we crossed two regions (Aragon and Valencian Community) but only one territory: the Maestrazgo or Maestrat, depending on which side of the bridge in La Pobla del Ballestar (Villafranca) you'r’ referring to.
At times, the dry stone walls became a "walkway" where Northern Wheatears, Corn Buntings, and Twany Pipits perched, or improvised tripods from which to photograph them.
The Hostel welcomed us to its hide to continue photographing European Serins and House Sparrows, while migrating Honey Buzzards delighted those strolling nearby.
And even lunchtime didn't offer a break, as from the dining room, while enjoying a delicious "arròs al forn” (baked rice), we continued from the windows.
And in the vicinity of Castellfot the Ortolan Bunting gave us the slip, but its historic hermitage of Sant Pere put the end to the birding day while by Red-billed Choughs overflow us.
