This week, our foreign languages students had the chance to play, practise, and learn in English, through an Escape Room activity we designed for them as part of the Technical Days (Jornades Tècniques) at Institut de l’Ebre.
The beginning was challenging, but their faces quickly showed teamwork, curiosity, satisfaction, and a healthy sense of competition as they solved each challenge.
It has been a week full of pure excitement as they tried to escape from this European journey, packed with linguistic and mathematical puzzles.
We would like to thank the CES volunteer who is currently carrying out a project with us for her collaboration, support, dedication, and commitment in helping develop this activity.

Finally, we want to thank all the students who took part and for their fantastic attitude and engagement.

Today is Ana’s last day at our school. 🥰🙌🥲
For a whole year, she has been with us—helping us improve our conversational English about lots of topics and also recipies, sharing her love for Georgia, its culture and traditions, managing our social media to promote international mobility, sharing her social abiliti3s with our students...and so much more!

Ana, we would like to thank you for your motivation, enthusiasm, patience, generosity, and the special charm that made every activity so meaningful.

We will carry Georgia in our hearts, and you will always be welcome here!

This week we celebrate the "Technical Days" in Institut de l'Ebre.
We had a cultural immersion to Georgia in our lessons. We had the opportunity to learn about this so rich culture by our international volunteer, Ana Chkareuli.

Hi again everyone! 👋🏻👋🏻 Here’s an update on what we’ve been doing with English here at Institut de l’Ebre!

🚣 In November, our European volunteer, Lile, and I had the opportunity to try rowing on the Ebre with students from the whole school and teachers from the Tortosa Rowing Club. We had a great experience! 🚣

📺 We also had the chance to appear on local television to talk about our projects here at school, and how we work with the English language in class! 📺

🏫 In December, we visited the EOI in Tortosa with our students to see what a typical English class is like at the school. Thanks again to the all the lovely teachers and students for hosting us! 🏫

🇬🇧 Since December, I’ve also been talking about my country with students. We have discussed the different nations of the United Kingdom, our traditional foods, what school is like in the UK, and how British people like to spend our free time. It’s been a pleasure to share my culture with my students, and I hope it has been interesting for everyone! 🇬🇧

So, what’s next?

🗓 We are currently preparing for the English Day at school, which will be celebrated on the 22nd of February. This will include representatives from each English class, as well as students from the EOI. We hope everyone will have fun and enjoy our activities!

🗣 I will be working with students and teachers in the different English classes until the end of May. We will continue focusing on speaking and expressing ourselves in English! I’m very happy with how we are all working, and I hope we can make the most of our time together 🗣

👋🏻👋🏻 Hi everyone! I’m Kahina and I started this week as the new English Language Assistant at Institut de l’Ebre 👩‍🏫

I’m 23 years old, and I’m from the city of Leeds, in the north of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 My hobbies are playing board games 🎲, listening to music 🎶, and painting my nails 💅

I’ll be here at school until May, and my job will be to help students practice speaking English in their classes 🗣
