Cosmic Research is a rocketry student-run non-profit society from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) based in Terrassa, Spain, developing low-cost suborbital rockets for peaceful applications. On March 2017, we launched Resnik, the highest-flying rocket ever launched by students in Spain to date. We have extensive experience in developing and testing solid rocket motors, namely Nebula-I & Nebula-III. Now we are about to make history with Bondar, the most ambitious rocket ever developed by students in Spain. Bondar is a supersonic single-stage stratospheric sounding rocket, propelled by a commercial solid motor and passively stabilized by fins, 2.8-m long and 35-kg heavy, set to reach a record-breaking altitude of 9 km. It will be launched from El Arenosillo, Spain, in May 2021. Since its foundation, we have launched over 30 rockets and 100 mini-satellites. We also provide launch service for CanSat competitions in Spain. We are open for sponsorships.

New Christa ha completat amb èxit el seu primer vol. Un llançament que ens ha permès posar a prova el vehicle en condicions reals i validar-ne el funcionament.

El resultat ha estat un vol impecable, que confirma tot el potencial de New Christa, amb capacitat per a 6 CanSats en un mateix llançament. 💪

New Christa has successfully completed its first flight. A launch that allowed us to put the vehicle to the test under real conditions and validate its performance.

The result was a flawless flight, confirming New Christa’s full potential, with the capacity to carry 6 CanSats in a single launch. 💪

One test passed, and much more lies ahead.

Our New Christa rocket is ready! 🚀

At Cosmic Research, we’ve been working on this project for months and we’re thrilled to announce that the manufacturing and testing phase is now complete.

New Christa is an upgraded version of the original Christa, offering improved reusability and reliability. 📈

Its main mission is to act as a Cansat launcher, capable of carrying up to six payloads.
This milestone reflects the dedication, teamwork, and engineering effort behind every detail of the rocket.

At Cosmic Research we’re proud to give you a sneak peak at Lovelace, the board that will command the improved version of our CanSat carrier rocket: New Christa.🚀

In comparison to the previous board, this design is made entirely in-house. In addition, it incorporates a series of redundant systems to ensure that both the rocket and mission are always in good hands.🌟

But why Lovelace?

Ada Lovelace was an English mathematician and visionary from the nineteenth century to whom it is attributed the creation of the first computer program, making her a pioneer in the world of computing.👩‍💻 We wanted to pay her this small tribute by immortalizing her name in our project as a way to continue inspiring future generations, just like she did.💡
