Know the wind strength, direction and weather forecast before heading out. And choose a kite size that fits you and the conditions.

2️⃣ Know your safety systems
Always know where your quick release is and make sure it’s working properly. Practice using your quick release before you need it.

3️⃣ Keep a safe distance
Give yourself and other enough space on the beach and on the water.

3 tips for your waterstart

The waterstart is one of the biggest milestones in your kite journey.

1️⃣ Wait for the pull
Don’t rush. Let the kite lift and pull you before standing up.

2️⃣ Point the board slightly downwind
This makes getting up much easier.

3️⃣ Stand up slowly
Don’t jump up. Let the kite do the work while you smoothly rise onto the board.

3 tips for better body dragging

Before riding the board, you’ll first learn to move confidently through the water.

1️⃣ Stretch your body
A long body position creates less drag and helps you move more efficiently. The Physics: If you try to point your body too far upwind you create too much drag.

The Sweet Spot (30°): Pointing your lead arm at roughly a 30° angle relative to the wind allows your body to cut through the water like a hull of a boat while maintaining enough forward speed to keep tension in the lines.

2️⃣ Look where you want to go
Your body naturally follows your eyes.

3️⃣ Trust the kite
Let the kite pull you instead of trying to swim.
Master body dragging and you’ll be ready for the next step. 🪁
