Children are inherently motivated to learn by several powerful drives, which, when supported, can lead to deep and meaningful learning experiences. By embracing these drives—curiosity, playfulness, sociability, and planfulness—you can help your child develop a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.

These drives are included in the Self-Directed Education section of our Teaching & Learning Guide for Parents who Educate along with useful learning activities for the educator and learning resources for the student. ✏️Dear parents who educate,

Over the years, most of my students have been learning at home or under the shade of palm trees. Their drive for learning and curiosity has inspired me! But it is not only them, but it is YOU! You beautifully driven, adventurous and intelligent YOU! The parents behind the pupils have also been a massive inspiration to me.

After speaking with many of you on zoom or on the phone, I understand that your unschooling dreams come with many challenges and can be totally overwhelming.

Turns out, that whilst I will never know your child as much as you do, I KNOW learning and I KNOW students. I have worked with students all over the world, younger, older, richer, poorer, online, offline and studied at some of the greatest institutes in the world.

It’s time that I share this with you.

Busy making the new course 'Food' for My Earth Education. We have finished the Habitat Series now with the courses Oceans, Forests, Savanna, and Polar. In these courses, students learn about topics such as plastic pollution, deforestation, the illegal wildlife trade, and climate change. All of our lessons are paired with resources for home learners to use along side the lesson. The resources are designed to embed the lessons learning and to recall taught information.

Our resources can however be used on their own or as part of a self led project. Students can research the topic and find the answers. This is great for independent learning.

SAVANNA Course - Private Tuition and Private Groups

What is an endangered species?

Our Savanna course teaches students about the cause and effect of extinction. We learn about endangered species and take a look at some of them on the WWF endangered species directory. We explore the different reasons why animals become endangered and extinct and follow this up by learning about global conservation efforts.
