SSI International is aware of the serious allegations circulating on social media concerning an SSI instructor.
We strictly condemn the mistreatment of marine life under any circumstances. Under SSI standards, all members are bound to follow the Responsible Diver Code, requiring compliance with all applicable regulations, statutes, and codes. SSI Instructors are expected to lead by example, follow local laws, and act as true ocean ambassadors who treat the underwater world with utmost respect.
SSI has opened a Quality Management System (QMS) case regarding this matter and takes these reports very seriously. We are currently reviewing all submitted materials to establish the facts, and we will take appropriate action in accordance with SSI standards and procedures.
