It works wherever you are. Just starting and not sure what's actually in the exam. Sitting it in 8 weeks. Or somewhere in the middle, which is where almost everybody reading this is.
Here's what's in it.
Where you actually are, scored 1 to 5 across the 4 things that decide your result. Your readiness number out of 20, with what each band means. What to do at your number over the next 30 days, because that's a different 30 days at a 7 than it is at a 15. And roughly how long it takes from where you're standing, so you can put a real date in the calendar instead of "next year", which is what it's said for the last 3 years.
Why only for people who are live: we fill it in together on the call, section by section. The numbers only mean anything if you've just heard what each section is measuring. Filling it in cold from an email is a worksheet. Filling it in with me is a diagnosis.
And the part that matters most. You can spend the next 6 months preparing for this exam without ever finding out which paper is costing you the certificate. Plenty of people do, for years. Meanwhile the job that asked for C1 goes to somebody who has it.
