TOURBO project has carried out pilot projects in Marche (Italy) and North Aegean Regions (Greece), and last week we presented the first example these projects from Marche. This week take a look at the project of Mulino Bravi!

Mulino Bravi is a historical mill located in Cingoli (historic hill town in the central part of the Marche Region). With the knowledge provider Lirici Greci, they designed a long-term transformation path to fully integrate innovative solutions into Mulino Bravi’s operations developing immersive experiences and digitalizing their products.

Mulino Bravi developed three different digital itineraries using Google Earth to promote the local heritage around the mill and introduced QR codes on organic product packaging linking to dedicated web content about sustainability.

TOURBO partners in Marche (Italy) and the North Aegean Region (Greece) carried out Pilot Actions, supporting five SME innovation projects per region through expert matching and project vouchers. Over coming weeks, we will share you the Pilot Projects from Marche region. Here is the case of Rose Mary 2.0.

La Casa di Rose Mary is a B&B located in Grottammare (South coast of Marche Region). With the knowledge provider Stefania Paris they implemented and applied a study to save water using a drip irrigation system, mulching techniques, and low-flow faucets to ensure more efficient use of water resources.

They also consolidated relationships with local companies and local partners to generate consistent guest flows throughout the year and created a web page on their website to disseminate their green techniques.

Want to get concrete ideas about sustainability measures in tourism to apply to your own business or destination? Join our second webinar on the topic of Sustainability in Tourism, on December 2nd, at 10:00-11:15 CET.

Our guest speaker, Dr. Elena Fischer from Bremen economic Development, will show how global climate frameworks such as the Glasgow Declaration for Climate Action in Tourism can be translated into concrete steps for destinations and tourism SMEs. Using examples from Bremen and other European regions, she will highlight practical approaches along the five pathways of the Glasgow Declaration – from measuring emissions and decarbonising transport, accommodation and activities to climate adaptation, collaboration with guests and partners, and financing climate action. The focus will be on hands-on ideas that participants can transfer to their own businesses and destinations.
