Share your international collaboration story with Ulysseus
Teachers, students, researchers, and staff from Ulysseus member universities are invited to showcase successful collaborations with partners beyond the EU at the Ulysseus International Networking Conference in Brussels on 10 November 2026.
We're looking for: • Research projects
• Skills & knowledge development initiatives
• Student mobility activities
• Regional development projects with business or public sector partners
Selected posters will be displayed at the conference and highlight the impact of global partnerships, SDGs, and co-creation.

🏙️✨ What makes a city truly feel like home?
From 29 June to 3 July 2026, the Technical University of Košice (TUKE) hosted the third edition of the Ulysseus Summer Institute for Young Researchers: Home: The X-Factor in Future Cities.
🌍 Bringing together 26 students from 11 universities and 16 countries, the programme explored some of today's biggest urban challenges, including:

🌱 Climate resilience
🏙️ Smart cities & urban vitality
🤝 Social inclusion & well-being
💡 Digital transformation
📚 Through lectures, workshops, field visits, and the Hack the City challenge, students gained hands-on experience at the intersection of research, innovation, and urban development.
As a flagship activity of the Ulysseus Joint R&I Group RUE (Regional and Urban Economics), the Summer Institute showcased the power of international collaboration in shaping the cities of tomorrow.

🌍🤖 Advancing the future of health and well-being through collaboration!
The University of Genoa hosted two Ulysseus Blended Intensive Programmes, HERO and AWAKE, bringing together around 40 master's students, PhD candidates and early-career researchers from across Europe.
📚 Through lectures, workshops, lab visits and team projects, participants explored robotics, AI, ageing, public health and biomedical sciences.
💡 They also connected with Genoa’s innovation ecosystem, learning about entrepreneurship, technology transfer and research valorisation.
A great example of how international and interdisciplinary collaboration can help tackle major societal challenges and shape the next generation of researchers and professionals.

🌍 Advancing innovation for healthier societies ✨
📅 From 20–24 July 2026, the Ulysseus Innovation Hub on Ageing and Well-being, recently designated as a WHO Collaborating Centre, hosted two key international initiatives: a high-level technical workshop on healthy ageing, noncommunicable diseases (NCD) and innovation, followed by the 4th WHO Summer School on systems thinking and public health innovation.
💡 Together, these events reinforced the Hub's commitment to advancing research, strengthening capacity building, and fostering international collaboration for healthier ageing and NCD prevention.
