Francis Ford Coppola is executive producing Thank You Mr. Brown, a documentary about Garrett Brown, the inventor of the Steadicam, which began principal production this week. EBE Productions and producer Nick Ditri announced the start on July 6, 2026, with Brown's longtime friend Andrew Schwartz directing and filming set for Philadelphia, New York and Los Angeles.

Brown's stabilizer rig frees a camera from tripods and dollies so an operator can walk, run and climb stairs while the image stays steady, and it reshaped how directors stage a shot, from Stanley Kubrick's corridors in The Shining to Rocky's museum-steps run. Lauren Zarelli Renaud joins Coppola as executive producer, with William Forbes and Douglas Skinner also producing.

🔥Gold Plus workshop.

We are continually working on improving our Gold Workshop program, to uphold its relevance to today’s market. Accordingly, we’ve increased the standard Gold program from 5 days to 6, and we’re now dedicating this extra day to Steadicam adjunct systems.

On adjunct day, we’ll showcase a variety of devices that augment the standard Steadicam system to allow us to make shots that cannot be otherwise achieved.

Together with our regular instructors, we’ll be designing these shots with the help of systems experts to demonstrate the agility of each adjunct.
