We are very excited about the Upcoming PSEN Training Year 2023-2024 in Spain. "Working With Unconscious Forces: The True Self, The Interpersonal Field, & Emergent Processes."With Irene Tobler and Michael Mervosh.

We will bring our attention towards what motivates us, what hinders our efforts, what gets us in trouble, by directing our awareness more actively towards the presence of these forces just below the surface of conscious awareness.
Winnicott created the notion of the ‘True Self’ as the core of our being, invested with a ‘positive ruthless demand’ to realize its potential through the life-giving ‘use of the object’.
The relational field being the intersubjective space between practitioner and client, we will develop a deep trust in the intelligence of this field, filled with potential for mutual transformation and growth.
When we sit with someone long enough, we become aware that something more is happening between us than what could happen for both of us in isolation. This something more arises within the subjective experience in both therapist and client, in body and mind.
Also, we will dive into an in-depth understanding of the complexity of the Narcissistic Character Structure, so that we can develop greater empathy and patience for a structure that is so deeply engrained and furthered in our developed Western societies.

Conducted in English with immediate Spanish translations.
During our four-day, PSEN experiential workshop we will:

• Explore experiences of the particular absence or emptiness which we chronically carry in our own core of being, and we will come to understand how this absence shapes our view and life experience.

• Find ways to give language to unformulated, unthought experiences through the sensate experience of our bodies, as a way of bridging the gaps in our narrative, as well as in the narrative of our families.

• Dive deeply into the sensate and postural experience of our bodies to access aspects of internalized experiences of absence that have not ever been ‘consciously thought of’, and has been carried in our unconscious.

• Make use of the interpersonal spaces and conditions in the workshop to bring absences through actively engaging with telling our stories of absence to another, that would not come to the surface of our experience otherwise.

• Deepen our understanding and appreciation of ‘what it takes’ between two people to undo our fixed allegiances to absence, so necessary to be able live into presences and opportunities that can feel both possible and real to us, and lead us towards a more resilient and livable future.

• Give voice to unconscious aspects of our ‘transgenerational inheritance’ through the embodiment of a ‘lived history’ of an ancestor, in service of a transforming the past, and enlivening the future for ourselves, and for generations to come.

Sant Feliu de Guixols is a beautiful town in the Costa Brava of Spain, approximately 100km north of Barcelona. There is a bus connecting Barcelona airport and Sant Feliu de Guixols.
