Before we broke up for the summer holidays, our students visited a local retirement home. They prepared some songs in Spanish and English, shared homemade cookies and ended the visit with games. It was a wonderful experience for all involved.

It was wonderful hosting teachers from Leśna Szkoła Kielce and REAL School Budapest as part of an Erasmus+ project.

Yesterday we welcomed Mil Playas—a fully self-funded environmental project protecting beaches and marine life through education, direct action, and community involvement.

They’re walking the entire coastline of the Península Ibérica over 18 months, travelling on foot for 6,000+ km and aiming to remove 100,000 kg of rubbish while raising awareness about marine pollution.

Our students sorted litter, answered questions to “unlock” adventure videos, asked the team their own questions, and even explored their van!

Recently, chemists from Moeve Chemicals visited our school and brought the crude-oil refining process to life. Our learners, who often pass the refinery in the San Roque Energy Park, now have a vivid picture of what’s happening inside those towers and pipes.

In a buzz of goggles and lab coats, they handled real samples of crude oil, tar, kerosene, and paraffin, and both observed and ran eye-opening experiments. The visit supercharged our current chemistry Exploration, turning abstract ideas into unforgettable, hands-on science.
