How can we bring European values to life in the classroom? 🇪🇺

VAL-YOU is an EU-funded project promoting democracy education in secondary schools. Through the Value Game, students explore real-life scenarios, consider different perspectives, and make choices connected to European values such as freedom, equality, democracy, and human rights.

By reflecting on their decisions in a safe learning environment, young people are encouraged to become informed, engaged, and active citizens!

🛡️ La violència a vegades és invisible, altres no. I fins i tot quan és visible, no sempre sabem com reaccionar. Ferides que els nostres infants i joves poden patir cada dia.

Des d'Espanya (Open Europe i Escola Pia de Catalunya) i Itàlia (Cosvitec) estem treballant per entendre com funcionen els sistemes de protecció a la infància. Volem ajudar a prevenir, respondre a temps i mitigar les conseqüències.

Ets docent o part de la comunitat educativa? La teva veu és essencial. Els sistemes actuals funcionen? Què hauríem de canviar?

🛡️ Violence is sometimes invisible, sometimes not. And even when it is visible, we do not always know how to react. Wounds our children and young people may face every day.

From Spain (Open Europe and Escola Pia de Catalunya) and Italy (Cosvitec), we are working to understand how child protection systems work. We want to help prevent, respond at the right time, and mitigate the consequences.

🚀 Ja està en marxa el concurs nacional de Leaders for Future!
Durant la trobada del National Hub vam presentar oficialment el concurs “Crea el teu propi pla de negoci”, una iniciativa pensada perquè dones joves puguin transformar les seves idees en projectes empresarials estructurats i reals.

El concurs forma part del projecte europeu Leaders for Future i és la culminació del procés de mentoria desenvolupat a través dels Punts de Suport locals. Les participants podran presentar la idea de negoci que han treballat amb el seu mentor o mentora i optar a avançar fins a la fase internacional del projecte.

👩 Qui hi pot participar?
• Dones joves d’entre 18 i 30 anys.
• Que hagin contactat amb el seu Punt de Suport local.
• Que hagin completat els fulls de treball de mentoria.
• Es donarà prioritat a dones joves amb menys oportunitats.
📅 Presentació de sol·licituds: de l’1 d’octubre al 30 de novembre.
🏆 Es seleccionarà una guanyadora nacional de cada país, que viatjarà a Reus per presentar la seva idea a la Conferència Final Internacional. A la fase internacional s’atorgaran dos premis de 3.000 € per impulsar les idees guanyadores.

🌱📚 Building a greener, fairer future through education.

Inclusive Future is an Erasmus+ project supporting schools in making education more sustainable, inclusive, and transformative.

By providing teachers with training, practical resources, and innovative teaching approaches, the project helps schools integrate sustainability into everyday learning and equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to respond to today’s environmental, social, and economic challenges.

But sustainability education should be accessible to everyone. Inclusive Future places particular attention on schools and learners in rural, disadvantaged, and marginalised communities, promoting inclusive learning environments where every student has the opportunity to participate and thrive.

Through innovative educational practices, digital tools, policy engagement, and cooperation across Europe, the project aims to turn sustainability from a concept into something that can be actively integrated into school life.

🌍🌱 Because education has the power to create change — and a greener future should be an inclusive one.

🧭 Ajudant les escoles a reflexionar i passar a l’acció

Un dels principals resultats del projecte VAL-YOU és una eina d’autoavaluació per a centres educatius.

Aquesta eina ajudarà les comunitats escolars a reflexionar sobre com els valors democràtics estan integrats en diferents àmbits de la vida del centre, com la comunicació, el lideratge, l’aprenentatge, la participació, el desenvolupament del professorat i les aliances amb entitats externes.

L’autoavaluació no serà només un qüestionari. També oferirà feedback i recomanacions perquè les escoles puguin identificar prioritats i preparar plans d’acció realistes.

L’objectiu és senzill: ajudar les escoles a passar de la reflexió a l’acció.

Des d’Open Europe, ens alegra contribuir a aquest procés i donar suport a escoles més democràtiques, inclusives i resilients.

💜 Empowering young women to become the leaders of tomorrow.

For many young women, especially those from disadvantaged or marginalised backgrounds, accessing decent employment and opportunities to participate in society can still be challenging. Leaders for Future is an Erasmus+ project working to break down these barriers by strengthening young women’s employability, entrepreneurial skills, confidence, and leadership abilities.

Through training, mentoring, peer networks, local support hubs, and opportunities for networking and visibility, the project helps young women turn their ideas into action, explore entrepreneurship, and take a more active role in their communities.

At the same time, Leaders for Future strengthens the youth organisations supporting them by providing training, resources, international mobility opportunities, and spaces to exchange knowledge and good practices.

By empowering young women and strengthening the organisations around them, the project contributes to more inclusive, equal, and resilient communities where young people have the skills and opportunities to shape their own futures.

Because the leaders of the future are empowered today. 💜

💙 Accessibility. Inclusion. Autonomy.

What if everyday tasks, information, and public services were designed so that everyone could navigate them more independently?

Learning to Live is an Erasmus+ project promoting accessible education and inclusive participation for people with intellectual and/or sensory disabilities.
Through accessible learning opportunities, digital tools, and practical resources, the project helps people develop the skills they need to manage everyday tasks, understand administrative procedures, communicate, and participate more independently in society.

But inclusion goes beyond individual empowerment. Learning to Live also supports friends, family members, social workers, and caregivers, helping them better assist people with disabilities in their everyday challenges.

By focusing on lifelong learning, accessible communication, digital tools, and autonomy, the project works towards a society where everyone has the opportunity to learn, make informed decisions, and take an active role in their community.

European values made tangible 🇪🇺

VAL-YOU is an EU-funded project that raises awareness of European values and promotes the implementation and development of democracy education in secondary schools.

The project aims to promote values such as respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and human rights—principles that are fundamental to a shared European identity.

VAL-YOU contributes by equipping secondary school educators with practical tools and approaches to promote these values and empower students as active, informed citizens in a democratic society. The project is also developing a serious game that allows students to experience democratic values firsthand and explore complex concepts in an engaging and interactive way.

By bringing European values and democratic education into the classroom, VAL-YOU aims to empower young people to become informed, engaged, and active citizens. 🇪🇺

📚 Recollint bones pràctiques per a una vida escolar més democràtica

En el marc del projecte VAL-YOU, els partners estem recollint bones pràctiques de diferents països europeus per inspirar les escoles en el seu desenvolupament democràtic.

Aquests exemples inclouen iniciatives relacionades amb la participació de l’alumnat, la inclusió, la mediació escolar, l’aprenentatge servei, la ciutadania digital, els entorns d’aprenentatge multilingües i la cooperació amb la comunitat local.

Open Europe també hi contribueix amb bones pràctiques d’Espanya, mostrant com les escoles poden promoure la participació, la convivència, la ciutadania i els valors democràtics a través d’accions concretes.

L’objectiu és crear una col·lecció europea útil i adaptable a diferents contextos escolars.

Petites accions poden fer que la vida escolar sigui més democràtica, inclusiva i participativa.
