English speakers often say "Ich bin richtig" when they mean "I'm right." But wait! 👉 Ich habe Recht = My opinion is correct / I am right. 👉 Ich bin richtig = I am in the correct place / I am the right one for the job.
Don't let a literal translation lose you the debate. Use HABEN! 🏆

If you're an English speaker, this one is a total mind-bender. 🇬🇧🇺🇸 English: Half four = 4:30 (Past the hour) 🇩🇪 German: Halb vier = 3:30 (Halfway TO the hour)
Think of it like a glass of water. In Germany, we say the glass is "half full" of the next hour. 🥛
Don't show up an hour late to your next meeting! 🏃💨

Someone asks: "Wie geht es dir?" You answer: "Ich bin gut." The German person thinks: "Wow, you're very confident!" 😂

English speakers, watch out! 🇬🇧🇺🇸 "I am good" does NOT translate to "Ich bin gut."
✅ Mir geht es gut = I am doing well / I’m fine. ❌ Ich bin gut = I am good (at a task) / I am a good person.
Keep it simple: If they ask "Wie geht es DIR?", answer with "MIR geht es gut."

"Ich mag lesen." ❌ Close, but not quite!

English speakers, listen up! 🇬🇧🇺🇸 If you like an ACTION, you don't use "mag." You use GERN.
👉 Ich mag Pizza (Noun = I like it). 👉 Ich lese GERN (Action = I like to read).
Think of "gern" as "gladly." I read gladly! 🏊‍♂️

❌ Ich bin langweilig = I am a boring person. (Ouch!) ✅ Mir ist langweilig = I feel bored.
It’s the difference between your personality and your current mood. Use MIR to stay safe!
