There are 168 hours in a week.
You’re awake for roughly 112 of them.
So even if you have a private English lesson every week and speak for the FULL hour…
That’s 1 hour out of 112.
Then for the other 111?
Spanish.
Italian.
Work.
Family.
Netflix.
WhatsApp.
Real life.
And then we wonder why speaking English still feels difficult.
You do NOT become fluent because a teacher corrects you more for an hour a week.
You become fluent because you USE English more.
You need to retrieve words under pressure.
Forget them.
Try again.
Explain something another way.
Use that C1 expression you learnt last week.
Make mistakes.
Get feedback.
Use it again.
That’s how English moves from:
“Ugh, I KNOW I learnt a word for this…”
to
“I can actually say this easily because I’ve used it a million times.”
So before you book another weekly lesson, try immersing yourself in English:
👉 Speak out loud for 10 minutes a day.
Talk about work. Explain an opinion.
👉 Stop learning vocabulary silently.
Learn 5 expressions, SAY them, use them in sentences about your life.
👉 Build English into the boring parts of your day.
Phone in English. Podcasts in the car. Voice notes. A language exchange. A colleague you speak English with for 15 minutes.
Just more English. More often.
And yes, correction matters.
But not every few seconds when you’re trying to build fluency.
If you say “depends of”, correct it to “depends on”… then do it again two minutes later…
You probably don’t need the rule explained for the 101st time.
You KNOW the rule.
You need enough practice for the correct version to come out automatically.
That’s exactly why we have 12+ hours of speaking sessions available every week inside the Accelerator.
And no, you’re NOT sitting quietly in a class of 15 waiting for your 2 minutes to speak.
We use breakout rooms, so you’re working in pairs and actually speaking for most of the session.
Your personalised study plan gives you the language YOU need to work on.
The speaking sessions give you the repetitions you need to actually USE it, ask questions and get feedback.
If you've been studying for years and still feel stu
