NEW FOR 2026!

Some people prefer a structured educational program because it provides clarity, consistency, and direction. Clear schedules, defined milestones, and set expectations can reduce decision fatigue and help learners stay accountable. For many, structure creates a sense of stability, makes progress easier to measure, and ensures that no important concepts are missed. While flexibility works well for self-directed learners, a structured program can be especially helpful for those who thrive with guidance, routine, and a clear path toward their goals.

On January 12th, 2026, the World Gem Foundation will start its first 'structured' Career Gemmologist Diploma program with clearly defined start and end dates for each module, scheduled webinars, and online examinations. The program consists of two levels. Level One is comprised of seventy-eight theoretical lessons that include over 24 hours of audio files in English and Spanish. Level Two includes 192 hours of practical in-class instruction. Since this program includes the course content for both the the Coloured Gemstone Professional and Diamond Professional Diploma programs, students successfully completing this program will receive three diplomas (Career Gemmologist, Coloured Gemstone Professional, and Diamond Professional).

Pay as you Go: Students can take advantage of our new 'Pay as you Go' option for Level One. This consists of eleven equal payments of $ 139 USD spread over the two academic terms.

It's hard to believe that it is already December!

The final GT Podicle of 2025 focuses on two gemstones that have suffered over the years from misconceptions and misinformation; zircon and topaz. Join our hosts David and Jane as they wrap up 2025.

GT PODICLES........It's that time again!

If you have never heard of Alexandrite or realised that the Black Prince Ruby in the British Crown Jewels is not in fact a ruby, this GT Podicle is just for you!

David and Jane focus on two gemstones; namely chrysoberyl and spinel. The first part looks at chrysoberyl highlighting its varieties, particularly the colour-changing alexandrite and the cat's eye chrysoberyl, providing information on their physical properties, geological origins, and global localities like Russia and Brazil. The second part discusses spinel, noting its historical confusion with ruby and detailing its physical characteristics, various colours, and important sources such as Myanmar and Tanzania. Both conclude with pricing comparisons, showing percentage differentials for different quality grades and comparing them to high-value alternatives like ruby and sapphire.

TIME FLIES......

Another month has flown by and its time for another GT Podicle. This time we take a comprehensive look at the various jewellery manufacturing techniques, primarily focusing on wax carving and the lost wax casting process. We also look at the methods for mass-producing jewellery using rubber and silicone moulds, contrasting vulcanised and cold-pour options, and detailing the steps for preparing a metal model for moulding.

JOIN DAVID & JANE on this fascinating journey.

Have you ever tried discussing something important with a person who isn’t knowledgeable about the subject?

For example, try selling a gorgeous tsavorite garnet to a person who thinks that garnets only come in a dull brownish-orange-red.

Knowledge creates a 'common' language that unites us.

Say 'YES' to education. It opens doors, creates meaningful dialogue, and creates opportunities.
