Today marks the Autumnal Equinox when Summer gives way to Autumn.

Falling each year during the 3rd week of both March and September these days give us exactly 12 hours of daylight followed by 12 hours of darkness.

From now till December 21st sunset will be about 3 minutes earlier each evening.

We were lucky enough to see this special sunset during this weeks Yachtmaster Offshore training course.

Three years ago, we had the pleasure of training Etienne Messikommer.

Today, Etienne sets off on one of the world’s most brutal yacht races: The Golden Globe Race ⛵️

30,000 miles non-stop, around the world. No electronic aids. No GPS, radar, autopilot, or weather routing. Just a sextant, pure skill, and mental fortitude.

Etienne was already an accomplished skipper when he joined us for his RYA Yachtmaster in 2023, and we couldn’t be prouder to have played a small part in his journey to today’s start line.

We’ll be following his progress closely over the months to come. Fair winds and safe sailing, Etienne! 🌊

Planning your next step after the summer season? Don't leave it too late – many of our Yachtmaster course dates are already fully booked!

While the Mediterranean season is still in full swing, now is when many crew start planning for their next role, or the qualifications needed to progress.

Demand is exceptionally high, and several Yachtmaster courses are already full. We've added extra dates to meet demand, but places are still limited.

From the end of August, we'll be running 2–3 RYA Yachtmaster Sail & Motor preparation courses every month, alongside:
