Turning a new page🩷🙏. ✨ *We have all heard that “yoga brings peace and happiness,” but the true impact of this practice goes much deeper.* ✨
🌿 Life is inevitably filled with challenges and crises. These realities do not disappear when we step onto the mat; instead, the practice transforms us so that we can face them with stability and grace.
Through yoga, we cultivate discipline, responsibility, and commitment—both to ourselves and to those around us. It builds physical and mental resilience. While the practice may never be “easy”—nor should it be!—it strengthens our spirit, body, and mind.
🧘♀️ Yoga shapes our character, helping us prioritize inner peace. By grounding us in the present moment through breath and *bandhas*, it heightens our emotional intelligence. Ultimately, yoga is about the beautiful journey: bringing clarity to the mind, lightness to the body, and union with the Divine.
*Happy practicing, everyone!* 🤍

Prayer.
We can approach yoga from many different angles. For some, it is a physical workout; for others, a sacred union of body, mind, and soul; and for some, yoga is a living prayer. We begin on the dense physical layer—purifying ourselves from the outside in through the breath, deep focus, and the intentional application of bandhas.
It is often said that a dedicated yoga practice burns away our karmic debt. The mysticism of yoga ensures we cannot remain unchanged; it forces us to make a choice. Suddenly, we are called to let go of our masks, our old habits, and outdated versions of ourselves. We must shed the distractions and the noise. For some, this means clearing the clutter from their lives—while others choose to walk away from yoga because the path is too demanding.
Yoga demands dedication, devotion, and faith—first in ourselves and our own souls, and then in something far greater than us. Ultimately, the choice is always ours.
Our invocation mantra begins with a profound truth: "O Lord, lead me from the unreal to the real, from darkness to Light, from death to immortality." This is the ultimate essence of our practice: to feel the Light, to be the Light, and to spread the Light.
Dear sweethearts, starting June 1st, our practice will move to Zoom while we search for our next offline home. The studio at Portals de Yoga is officially up for sale. I am so incredibly sorry for the transition layout and any inconvenience, and I am so deeply grateful for your warmth and understanding.
See you on the screen—let's keep practicing together online!

Rest in Gratitude.
There is a mystical hour before sunrise. It is the time when the whole city sleeps and fewer "thought forms" enter our energy field. There is only us, the stars, and the Supreme Source. Serenity and silence are present, magic is in the air, and the voice of the soul can finally be heard. It is a powerful moment of connection to something bigger than ourselves.
On one of these mornings, I was resting in gratitude. I recognized how grateful I am for everyone who helps my life flow the way it does. I acknowledge my body as a map of the soul; it highlights exactly where the work needs to be done. I embrace my shadows and whisper words of gratitude to them.
Through the body, we continue to expand our consciousness and awareness. We feel grateful to everyone who came before us, giving us the tools to continue this energy work within ourselves and the world around us. We are grateful to live on this planet and share it with so many incredible souls.
Gratitude feels like expansion and openness. It feels like oneness—a great unity with the whole planet. Gratitude feels like the freedom to spread your arms and let go of the shields of fear, protection, and separation. It is a transformative way to simply be here with an open heart and an awake mind, allowing everyone to be exactly who they are. There is no judgment, criticism, or fear—only an embrace of gratitude.
Thank you. ❤️🙏

Concentration. Connection. Liberation.
Divine Love and Light constantly surround us.
While we may not always see them, we certainly feel their presence from time to time. We hold a deep awareness of this within ourselves. Though we can easily get caught up in our physical bodies here on Earth, that invisible Divine light remains safely tucked inside.
We often visit monasteries, temples, and churches to connect with it.
In yoga, we find this connection through our practice. We begin by asking for guidance, offering our gratitude before flowing with the breath. This concentration draws us inward, directly to the space where that Divine spark resides.
The more breath we offer it, the more we awaken it. And as it awakens, our realisation of our own energy, creativity, and light begins to beautifully expand.
Yoga is a path of moving energy. We squeeze, twist, and bend our old emotional and psychological patterns—not just our muscles and bones. In doing so, we extend and create space for new ways of perceiving, creating, and finding liberation.
Yoga isn't simply about opening the shoulders; it gives us wings of liberation. When we release tension in the back, we are truly opening our hearts. We allow ourselves to simply be present, experiencing life exactly as it is, without judgement or criticism. Living with an open heart demands a great deal of strength, courage, acceptance, and love—qualities we learn on the yoga mat every single day.

A Note on Equanimity
In the current climate, perhaps more than ever, a daily routine of yoga, pranayama, and meditation has become a vital discipline. If the events of the last few days have knocked us off centre, it serves as a clear reminder: we must return to our mats to cultivate resilience and inner strength.
To view yoga merely as a physical workout is to misunderstand its true depth. It is, in fact, a vast practice that bridges the body with our consciousness, emotions, and overall wellbeing. We might treat the physical self as a kind of human laboratory where, through our practice, we simply observe the fluctuations of the mind and the shifting tides of emotion without judgement. Ultimately, it is about building a higher level of awareness.
The steady rhythm of the breath and the movement of the body help to bring us back to a place of stability and acceptance. They lead us to a sense of gratitude—for today, for our lives, and for the lessons we are learning whilst we are here.
So, just for today, let’s choose to be okay. Let’s breathe, accept the moment, and enjoy life as it is.

The Great Self-Robbery of the present moment:
We are living in an era of self-robbery with the systematic theft of the present moment. Our minds have become frantic, oscillating between the shadows of the past and the anxieties of the future. We consume sixty-second videos, eat while running, and move at a pace that renders our own lives a blur. We forget what we did last week—or even yesterday—within seconds. Everything is lost in the fog.
Where are we? When was the last time we allowed ourselves the luxury of simply being? To drink a cup of tea and truly taste its complexity? To spend time with a loved one and actually listen, feeling the weight and texture of the space around us?
Why do we constantly push away the "now"? For many, sitting with the present feels demanding, perhaps even impossible. Without consistent training, the mind lacks the strength to remain still. Nature, however, offers us a vital lesson: if the surface of a lake is choppy, we cannot see its depths. Only on a peaceful, calm day can we see all the way to the bottom. Nature teaches us that to find inner contentment, we must slow down and go deeper.
To reach those depths, we have ancient, proven tools: Pranayama, Yoga, and Meditation.
In our practice, we learn to stay with whatever arises. If fear surfaces, we work with fear. If pain appears, we welcome it. If joy bubbles up, we embrace it. We acknowledge that today is simply "like this," and that is enough. It is okay for things not to be okay.
We practice staying in the moment without robbing ourselves of the experience. We finally give ourselves permission to feel the breath, inhabit the body, and find peace within the mind.

THE SPINE: OUR COSMIC ANTENNA
In the world of yoga, the spine is viewed as a cosmic antenna, bridging the gap between Heaven and Earth.
We possess an imprinted awareness of the Divine and the energy of Light. From this origin, a constant search arises—a quest to unlock and radiate these energetic codes from within. The spine houses all the primary energy centres, or chakras, serving as the central highway for this transformation.
OBSERVATION WITHOUT JUDGEMENT
By observing our posture, we can acknowledge where we feel restricted, compromised, or compressed, and where we feel open, light, and at ease. We do this without labelling or judging; we simply acknowledge what is.
We soon realise that knowledge of our own "vehicle"—the body—is where true power is gained. We use this awareness to connect to the energetic codes within through the practice of equanimity, breath, and a serene mind. This is the path towards true freedom.
THE LANGUAGE OF THE LOWER BACK
Many of us experience a collapse in the lower back; some even live in constant pain. How does this connect to our emotional intelligence?
The lower back often reflects instability in one's life. It whispers fundamental questions:
Do we deserve to be here?
Are we "good enough"?
Are we connected to our roots and family?
THE PATH TO FREEDOM
When we free the body, we automatically begin to free the mind, and vice versa. We already possess the power and the tools; now is the time to act.

The Bhagavad Gita
The Bhagavad Gita isn't just an ancient story; it is the battle between light and darkness happening in our heads every day.
For each of us, the ultimate goals are peace, joy, and heart-to-heart connection. To remain present and radiate love toward all beings, we lean on the pillars of Yoga, Meditation, and Pranayama.
We are surrounded by an army of divine beings, teachers, and angels, even as we navigate the opposing forces of shadow. Our inability to see them does not mean we are alone; we are always supported. To reinforce this connection to the Light, we must dedicate ourselves to a consistent spiritual practice. We must choose love, no matter the circumstances.
Yoga serves to dissolve the impurities of ignorance and dismantle the protective walls around our hearts. The practice purifies our energy and burns through karma. When you next stand on your head, remember: it isn’t about the asana. It is about winning the war within, building patience, and gaining the strength of the Divine. Through this practice, we become vessels for Light.
May we all be happy and free.

Reflections on the Journey Home.
I believe we are here to blossom, to move energy, and to share our unique gifts and talents.
For many of us, the prison of struggle and survival feels so real that we struggle to escape or even recognise that the key is always with us. That key is the power of our mindset. It is scary—even frightening—to be truly free, but as soon as we taste the air of freedom, our Spirit refuses to look back.
Within the human body, there are various energy centres. We can choose to live in a state of survival, fear, pleasure, consumerism, or power; there is no judgement in that, but for some of us, it is simply not enough. It becomes hollow after a while. Even the Buddha was once a prince who tasted all the world had to offer before seeking more. While we may not belong to royal families, many of us carry that same "Buddha spark" within.
We are seekers. We find total bliss and happiness in experiences, in feelings, and in Divine energies and peace. These are things we cannot see, hear, or touch, yet we feel them deeply. It is a place where separation dissolves into unity with the Divine—a realm of endless Unconditional Love and Pouring Light. This is the place our Soul calls home. Humanity has been gifted the tools to connect to this space through the body.

Happy New Year, my beautiful loved ones.
My wish for this magical New Year 2026 is that we pause and reconnect with the depth of our Divine nature. We must accept that it isn’t a quick on/off switch for most of us; it is a lifelong, dedicated journey.
We can be lazy and seek quick fixes for our dopamine hits. It is far easier to obtain a rapid dopamine hit by eating a croissant, watching TikTok, shopping, or viewing light TV dramas, rather than going through the discipline of connecting to the Divine through practising yoga.
Dedication to the practice of yoga requires concentration and awareness – a demand that places considerable strain on our grey matter. It calls for the awakening of our soul. This is a challenge not only for the mind but also for the body. All systems are awakened, and the customary mechanical movements are now replaced, requiring fresh awareness and new neural pathways to be built. This constitutes a revolution for the body, consciousness and mind. Yoga is a practice for the soul and a connection to the divine, which is why we step onto the mat regularly, no matter what.
This is not a quick in‑and‑out superficial TikTok type dopamine exercise; it is an evolution of the soul, bringing bliss and a sense of wholeness. We feel at home within ourselves.
Happy practice in 2026 to everyone!
