Hola is an informal greeting. Ola, on the other hand, refers to the waves of great amplitude that form on the surface of the water, to an atmospheric phenomenon, to the impetuous movement of people or to the sudden appearance of something.

The sea is very calm, there are no waves - El mar está muy calmado, no hay olas 🌊

He walked by and didn't say hello - Ha pasado por aquí y no ha dicho hola 👋

Hola es un saludo de carácter informal. Ola, en cambio, se refiere a las ondas de gran amplitud que se forman en la superficie de las aguas, a un fenómeno atmosférico, al movimiento impetuoso de gente o a la aparición repentina de algo.

¿Dónde has viajado este verano? - Where did you travel this summer? ✈

La casa donde vivo es muy grande - The house where I live is very big 🏠
