A fairly new restaurant in the Mallorca fashion Outlet shopping center so might come across a few growing pains but for us this German chain fits our needs being closer to us than Palma, nothing will deliver to us so we need to venture out when the chef needs a night off. 😉Take-out is also an option. They have a nice bar to eat at or wait at. There is also a large terrace for warmer weather dinning.

I’ve had 4 visits here so far with various dishes, pizza being the latest, portions are large and the price is reasonable. We shared a pizza that we split the toppings, BBQ Chicken & Salsiccia Piccante and an appetizer, bruschetta(2) and we were plenty satisfied. Had a lovely Italian Valpolichella wine that was perfect.

Service was not bad, minor improvements would have made it better, still chewing our food yet she wanted to clear our table and offer dessert, not presenting the wine to make sure it was what I ordered, hard to flag her down to get the bill but as I said nothing major.
Our pizza was slightly cold, as if it sat in the window a bit, but not too cold we didn’t enjoy it, just saved me the roof of mouth pizza burn. She did come and check on us, we chose not to mention it as it was fine.

Not even a year old it will have these minor hiccups now and then. We will return and watch it improve and grow.

Another visit, another review and it is still so good and my favorite! The owners, a warm and friendly couple who make you feel like you’re in their home. The flavors are so pronounced it is like you are taking a big bite of whatever that main ingredient is. We started off with a Bruschetta with 3 different toppings(all vegetarian) on homemade bread! I was wanting just a simple green salad and they accommodated me perfectly. Next up the pizzas! The speck and Gorgonzola pizza was amazing, beautiful balance, I bet for a vegetarian the Gorgonzola alone would be a favorite. I am eager to try the Parmiggiana with eggplant/aubergine but for the second time I had the Diavola, just enough spice to keep me going for more. Desserts are all home made with lots of love, you can taste it. We chose the lemon cake, soft, not too sweet and melt in your mouth lemon glaze. Nothing fancy just really yummy. So excited for it I forgot to take a pre-photo. The wine list is thankfully Italian, you would be very surprised to know this is not the norm here in Mallorca. We decided to splurge on the wine(Antinori Chianti Classico Reserva 2022) as the meal would be very reasonably priced. So worth it, to have a wine complement the food, makes it all the more special. The service was excellent, they do everything, it wasn’t rushed and wasn’t slow, just perfect. Overall it’s like getting a big hug from Italy. 🇮🇹

This is an event put on my myself and Avena Clarke of Avena’s Culinary Club. We are two American expats who are looking forward to celebrate with you all on the 23rd.

The ticket price includes a traditional American Thanksgiving buffet, water, coffee and tea as well as a welcome glass of cava! 🥂

We derailed but we are back on track again…

So over a year ago I finally made the leap to start Avena’s Culinary Club beginning with a few sourdough bread classes & social events to get us rolling, then some life events took place that put it all on the back burner. Now here we are with one of our favorite holidays coming up and it’s giving us the push to get Avena’s Culinary Club up and running again.

The Halloween party is happening this year!

Brining the turkey 24 hours ahead makes for a very juicy and flavorful outcome!
(But don’t make the easy school girl error like I did…I forgot to rinse the bird after removing it from the brine, 🤦🏻‍♀️so ended up with a salty gravy. Bacon probably added to it as well! Fixed it though👩🏻‍🍳!)
