Logistically difficult but possible! This is how I would describe the experiments of our group! In situ chamber experiments testing the effects of solar creams and microplastics on Posidonia in Formentera the last 3 weeks- funded by Consell de Formentera Save the Posidonia project.

Just a brief introduction about the Marine Ecology and Systematics (MarES) research group- It was founded very recently (beginning this year) and it is the first exclusively marine research group based in the University of Balearic Islands. It has 3 main research lines: (1 Marine Benthic Ecology and Systematics; (2) Marine Microbial Ecology and Systematics and (3) Marine Plant Ecology. The founding members from the UIB are Dr. Nona Agawin (lead researcher) and Dr. Maria Capa, and collaborator from IEO, Dr. Eva Sintes. Although we are still a very small group, we aim for excellence in relevant marine research. Attaching here is a photo of our first dinner celebration of the formation of the group with our doctoral students Victor Fernandez and Aida Frank.
